Opening day's race honours at Sha Tin, Hong Kong won by jockey J Moreira last years runner-up champion by a good treble ( Joy Master, Leap of Faith and Excellent Proposal ) and by trainer's D A Hayes  and J Size both with a double.  Z Purton last years champion jockey also won two races ( Bright Kid and Metro Warrior ) and A Badel ( Perfect Match ) and K Teetan ( Mongolian King ) also won one race each in a tightly hard fought races. 
    The second meeting of the new season will be held on 9th September at Happy Valley, another popular racing venue at Hong Kong. Horse racing is the only legal avenues for gambling in HK, as well as betting on Rugby. The popularity of HKJC is based on public interest and trust. They devote all its surplus to charity and most of Hong Kong's Public  Parks, Zoos, Recreational facilities and Charities were built using HKJC donations. At Happy Valley even a racing museum also built to learn about history of sport and jockey club. 
    HKJC deserves all praise for smooth conduct of racing even during this COVID - 19 pandemic situation.
