Why No Race Club Is Transparent On Resumption Of Races?

By Smart-still-poor-punter | 21-Sep-2020

Hi Everyone,

     When a few race clubs put out news early this month that racing activities will be resumed in their centres from October and November 2020, many punters felt glad because they have been kept away from this so-called "paid excitement" for almost six months now.

     However, not a single race club has come out with some authentic information about how they are planning to go about their new online venture, and whether the punters can participate in the action from outside.

     It appears that not a single race course has really rose up to the occasion to get their track prepared for action. The morning track works also look dull and boring, what with a few horses and lowly-placed riders doing the job.

     What the punters wanted to know in the first instance is when and how the race clubs are going to go online. However, no race club looks like speaking something about it, perhaps wanting to keep the punters guessing for the whole of 2020?

     The present trends, therefore, indicate that horse racing may not get a start anywhere in India for the entire year.

@ dancing dynamite,

          I agree.

          As much as one want to and as hard it may see the effects,  stopping someone reading here from punting is not that much easy. Because the decision to stop punting is theirs.

    But what fascinated me is,  the relentless selfless service by Shri.SSPPji without expecting anything in return from others in the noble cause of saving the middle class punters from venturing into this risky game, which is amazing.

     Come what may, he is sure of going ahead in the present situation even if all the odds are not in his favour in order to get something done in the matter.

     He is totally believing that the pen is mightier than sword and continuing his honest opinions even if it irks a few.

      I consider him as a great human being .

      Hope every punters here will concur.

Sir,

Nowdays Horse Racing means" HORSE TRADING " (Ghoda Bazar) there is a agreement (Unothorised) between the Club+Bokkies+Owners+Trainers to LOOT the Punters..and make their life more miserable.

4,5 years back there was a demand for online betting ..but all clubs so happy in making money from Punters ..Its just like Sellers Market,who cares ..

Now present situation looks like an" Higher Power" call to halt Racing  for Community (Punters) wellness..

@SSPP, If you think that someone reading here will stop punting because you said so, then you are highly mistaken. Yes, a punter can stop punting but only due to his own reasons and not as per your advice.  And more importantly, you will never come to know that somebody left punting.  And if anybody comes on this site, to tell that he has left punting, then he is definitely lying.  If that person still has the feeling to come in this site and read blogs, then actually he has not left racing permanently.

Hi FRIENDS ,

No punter want to loose it's known fact but you know why punters are looser all the time because they start chasing their luck after LOOSING 1 or 2 bets. Iam in racing since 50 years I don't boast of winning big all the time but yes I maintained the books well. WHEN I go to races I pick 2 to 3 bets aim going to play win or loose I don't chase my luck if I fail to win. Back what you had decided to bet don't ask FRIENDS what you fancy it may discourage you and you bet differently from your fancy and the the bet you fancied won. Always play confidently and Chase your luck.Thats it.

@ Punter

     Absolutely, I lost so much in racing, a fact which I never feel ashamed to disclose. I stopping betting in 2014 after taking a firm resolve, and that one decision has changed my life altogether. I have regained all the money that I lost over 25 years in horse racing, in just a matter of 5 to 6 years and leading a comfortable life in Kerala. I am here to see how many economically-weak punters I can rescue through proper advise. That's all. You can play as much as you want if you feel you are making money, I have no qualms.

     @ Baski

     Thank you for your comforting words. It's for people like you, Shri Vijayakumar and about a dozen others that I continue to write here. My pen will remain open.

     @ Raghavan

     You are quite right in saying that the race club authorities will continue to keep the punters amused by announcing resumption dates but on the other hand will not pursue the matter seriously with the Government. In such a situation, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru will be nowhere near starting races this year. It's easy to predict what's in stake looking at the grave situation prevailing in Maharashtra and many other states, where racing enjoys prominence.

Why no race club is transparent about resumption of races?

SSPP,

For a change, I salute all the stewards from all race clubs in India.  They want racing to start.  They want non stop income, that too tax free.  If they had authority, to resume races, there would have been racing in BNG, MYS, PUN, HYD & Kol.  At the same time, in their subconscious they are also worried about the virus threat.

So,  they are not pursuing the matter with Government beyond a point.

Kolkata has stated that it will start from 31 october and Chennai on 6th November.  Both starting dates have bright chance for postponement!

Dear SSPP (OR) Smart but now Rich Non Punter may I say so,

I have been punting since first week of November 1968. I am from Chennai but I have been to all racing centres in India except Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi till date. I am still an active punter but in a reduced manner. I fully support your views and I also feel that this is the best times for punters. Many egoistic punters may disagree to this. But it is an absolute fact. Keep up your good work. Presently GOD is helping us indirectly.

Best regards,

Baski.

@ Abhay Singh

     I am very much an active "unpunting" punter. My eagerness is in seeing racing getting delayed as much as it can so that the middle class is saved from going the wrong investment during this critical covid-hit phase.

@ Nickel

     If resumption of races is controlled by bokkies and the government approval is only a formality, then races would have been held during lockdown itself, isn't it? What you said subsequently is correct - "Bookies First, Punters Last". This can never change.

@M B M

     I was also trying to underscore the same point that when there is no exact date with permission to conduct any mode of races, how come many posts started appearing here expressing enormous confidence on early resumption in centres like Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai?

@ Dancing Dynamite

     Yes, as you think I have left racing long before and you are not at all wrong about what you thought. I can always join here without your permission to celebrate the delay in start of racing. That's what I have been doing precisely.

@ HP++

     I was also recalling some 'hardcore' punter singing "Come September" here. I think now he will have to sing "Come October" and then "Come November"////hahahaha

@Lightning Strikes

     You are very much right in highlighting that the Corona effects are still on. I am also quite excited to see at least in this way the pandemic is helping a small section of people in India.

Local bookies never allow going online . If it happens it's an end game for local bookies . After the approval why still they are not resuming the races shows how much these guys are connected with local bookies . The board is never bothered about the racing industry and the real people associated with it. Always favouring the bookies and with the minority who is part of the money looting gang .

Well let's wait and hope it's a wishful thinking , the Corona effects are still on , I presume they are not taking any chances be it the Racing Administration of all clubs or the government approval , now the effect of the COVID 19 is peaking at alarming heights and no one is taking chances as you know one mistake and everything gets blown , prevention is better than cure , the racing fans rather stay home and see the welfare of their families and themselves , money can come and go but not health , stay safe friends ..

As expected as predicred ..come September nothing will get started as far as racing is concerned.Govt is yet so petrified to resume trains.TIFR scientists have said that trains shud start by Nov or else nothing normal wud resume.IPL cricket with players sporting no masks is a good hint  and sign that racing can start 50%

Initially government has not occarded the permission to conduct races

Without the permission how can any raceclub chalk out programmes either to get ready with track or any subsequent preparations

There is no exact date with permission to conduct any mode of races

Let us wait and watch

The way races are controlled by Bookies, even the resumption is controlled by Bookies. Govt approval is a formality only. BOOKIES first- Punters last.. Realize now or repent later.
