This is not to justify or take away anything from the deserving winner of the day that is LAGARDE.BUT..... ANTIRESS was given a very poor ride.ANTIRESS both the times when it ran second in the GUINEAS and when it won the OAKS was switched off in last/second last position and then when alerted in home accelerated very well. Today firstly it was in lead for the first 200 mts and only after passing the winning post ffirst time it went back to third spot and always tried to be up with the pace. That was its un doing. See how cool and excellent race SANDESH rode on paddys horse which nearly won the race.

ANTIRESS lives to fight another day ... no need to right it off.

congrats ZEDZZ and MUNEESH your pick LAGARDE was spot on I may be misjudged my choice of ANTIBESS.However not to justify but my take is riding ANTIBES- up with the pace was it's undoing.

ANTIBESS shd hv switched off like what Sandesh did on SOVERIGN GOLD ...but JOHN rode a poor race by pacing in 3 rd spot.

I still feel ANTIBES lives to fight another day..

ANTIBES is doomed with 666. Race 6 ,Horse 6 and Draw 6.

Neither Iam a fake astrologer nor superstitious. But never in the history racing 666 has won a derby anywhere on earth.

So forget ANTIBES  no matter how much hype someone has created here..He is known for such hype since years. And neither it has MERIT.

The best horse which has a derby chance is Lagarde.Its a colt and has better timing than FF.

That day when GOLDEN COURS won it was heavy going the track was like swimming pool,even during the time race ran it was wet.Tommorow is bright and sunny .....the daughter of FOND FANTASY will make them all run

     FOND FANTASY won 8 races from 10 starts, Rs. 65,92,472 incl. Fillies Trial Stakes, Gr.1, The Hindu Bangalore Oaks, Gr.2, Bangalore 1000 Guineas, Gr.2, Harvins Bangalore 2000 Guineas, Gr.2., K.R.H.O.A. Mysore 1000 Guineas, Gr.3 and placed 2nd in Kingfisher Derby Bangalore, Gr.1, etc. She never raced at Pune.

     FOND FANTASY has had six foals previously of whom 5 are winners of 15 races including Bold Majesty (6 wins incl. Legacy Bangalore Derby, Mysore Derby, Gr.1, etc.) ANTIBES is her seventh foal.  

Fond Fantasy had one maiden win in Bangalore and it was the odds on favourite for the Fillies Trial which it won. Then ran the Bangalore Derby as favourite and finished 2nd to the winner , stable mate, Glorious Colours which probably was jockey C Rajendra's first classic win. Thereafter, both the horses, I feel retired to stud. I am not sure. Only our friend ITR will have an answer.

@Ruchi: Suraj has ridden only Lagarde and he has not ridden Forest Flame. He has chosen a second horse Forever Together trained by his brother. Fond Fantasy was owned by Late MAM and Bold Majesty  out of Fond Fantasy is the only one who has won classics in Mysore and Hyderabad and in Bangalore it has to live under the shadow of Be Safe. Other than Bold Majesty no other foals have done anything to shout about. Antibes maybe another one to make the flag fly high for Fond Fantasy. But,the trainer is of mixed bag type blowing hot and cold.His horses do not perform the same.Suraj selection of FT maybe to get good odds for Lagarde. I would have preferred a better jockey on Antibes. But, the cupboard is empty and with foreign jockeys not available due to corona pandemic,it has to be managed with the available. All the so called top jockeys are engaged to ride other horses. Many connections were wise to fix up the top jockeys as soon as the racing resumed.

No Doubt You Are The Best Tipster Since Last Several Years And Your D R Are Class Apart. But The WaY You Are Backing Antibes, Az If This Horse Iz Squanderer Or Elusive P At Their Peak. This Iz One Of The Most Open Derby. Antibes Running With A Good Chance, But Not Az Outstanding Or One Horse Race. I Still Believe The Race Iz Between F F  And  L, With Antibes Finishing 3rd Or 4th.

Ruchi bhai    On Surajs selection of a horse. Multifaceted lost twice ridden by this guy.He only tracked it exclusively.In the next race he chose another one which became fav.and lost Multifaceted won the race like a champion.

MY CONFIDENCE LEVEL ON ANTIBES has increased 10 fold after declaration.

The champion jockey himself has given a indication.

1) LAGARDE : won back to back two classics , ridden by him

2) F.FLAME : Multi classic winner ,ridden always by him

Yet he choose a third horse FOREVER Together a class V A winner .It shows that he is sure that the former two cannot stay the gruelling 2400 trip and he tries on a unknown TUKKA mount.But being out of EXCELLNT ART,I feel it's a poor choice

That brings us direct to ANTIBESS V/s RUNBANCITIBUS.As explained below on BEATEN IS BEATEN STRATEGY,FRIENDS, RUNBA CITIES will be again donkey licked by ANTIBES

ANTIBES WILL WALK AWAY WITH BANGALORE DERBY there is no doubt and throwing an angle on pedigree well MULTIDIMENSIONAL- FOND FANTASY WHAT ELSE IS NEEDED.

Antibes after winning Grade 2 Bangalore Oaks was handed over a meagre 4 point penalty, which doesn't read well at all to win a race like Derby. Straight away you can eliminate Antibes on the basis of penalty points handed over to it after Oaks.

Eventually Indian Derby also will be won by Forest Flame.

Surprisingly no colt matches the class of FF. 

My previous post was before the jockeys declaration. As I had guessed Suraj has preferred his brother's horse Forever Together and Lagarde is to be ridden by Akshay.I am happy that they have chosen Akshay and not gone by the thumb rule and engaged PSC who was available. The race boils down to these horses: Forever Together, Lagarde,Antibes,Forest Flame and Rambunctious. Two are ownermates and Lagarde is partly owned by Rambunctious owners.All the owners of the 5 horses are RWITC based owners and only one owner from Chennai has little ownership In Antibes. Forever Together has better breeding credentials and Forest Flame after labourious win in Poone appears out of depth for the Derby. Whether it had a disliking for Poone track or not ,this run here will answer.

Suraj selection of FT is out of merit or to get more odds for Lagarde. Only the Derby result will confirm. Only with second run it ran a grand race. With that experience it should be the one every other will try to beat.But,if he has some home work with his family links associated in racing and gets a feed back that FT has got chances then he will oblige to get the result otherway.

No body can touch 'Forest Flame' in the hands of Trevor. Back Forest Flame  recoup your losses.

Rambunctious, (nicely bred to stay) apparently seems small size animal & last time taken to task / strategy by **Start To Finish** , theoreticalally suitable for this size animal.

So , chances of winning this concurrent "Prestigious Event" by this animal is very very bleak & any dash showing (Current Set Rich) **Specie** , will prove & decide / seal fate , as last time / outing took place.

Based on Indian 1000Guineas result, Forest Flame need not be considered for exata pool also.

I feel the race is between Antibes, Lagarde, Forest Flame & Rambunctious. Distance advantage goes to Antibes & Rambunctious. But Antibes has beaten Rambunctious comfortably and above all Antibes is by Multidimensional.

Hence, my final choice would be ANTIBES.

Now w LAGARDE ,when it won the 2000 in mumbai it was a laboured win.Itwas whipped 15 times to overtake a tiring GOLDEN QUEST.There was no fluency in its strides,it appeared it was moving fast while the fact was GOLDEN QUEST was coming back to the field.IN BOLD LETTERS I SAY FORGET LAGARDE WONT FINISH IN TOP TWO

--That leaves ANTIBES+ F.FLAME- RAMBUNCTIOUS

Now a member and horse owner at Bangalore late Mr Thomas who used to consult me on  my HANDICAPPING and rating methods when his horses ran  ( ROYAL ®AL,PICK ME UP ETC) were few good ones owned by him.He once told me in racing remember "BEATEN IS BEATEN" meaning when " A" beats "B',and they run together it is extremely difficult for B TO reverse the verdict when they run together again same distance,same class,unless A has had a set back.

Same analogy goes here the way ANTIBES made mince meat of RAMBUNCTIOUS,I don't see RAMBUNCTIOUS even touching the tail of ANTIBES.

- CONCLUSIONS: Just two horse raceF.FLAME AND ANTIBES.Now FF beat ANTIBES but over a mile.Both in the Guineas and Oaks ANTIBES was in rear almost last and the acceleration it showed has to be respected and seen to be believed.FF has the acceleration but then plus with ANTIBES is it has gone over 2400 and won too.

GUYS I CAN SHOUT FROM ROOF TOPS BANGALORE DERBY IS AT THE MERCY OF ANTIBES ( DISCLAIMER: after all it's racing,look what happened to ZOYA) I mean if there is no mishap,no hardluck story then if we allocate 100 percent for each slot

WIN:(100%: 90 percent ANTIBES WILL WIN ,5 % due t some hard luck ,I will run second)

Yes, my choice is also the same horse. The owner of this horse has bred and is part owner Lagarde which in all probability will be the favourite. Suraj the regular rider of this horse is tracking Forever Together trained by his brother and owner mate of  Forest Flame. This horse has better breeding credentials than Forest Flame and likely to stay better than Forest Flame. Which horse Suraj will ride and who will ride the other. Maybe Sandesh or PSC. I doubt Forest Flame will stay the distance and has chosen a tougher field than Indian Oaks which may not be as strong as this with only fillies it had already crossed swords and won against them. This maybe to coverup the staying capacity of FF that it lost in a strong derby field. Let us wait for jockeys declarations.

Forest Flame one horse race.

Those who read the Races of every horse properly and minutely, and the pedigree which can travel, tactics and running that will be changed etc , can easily pick up the winner.
