Zenana's grand-dam too was imported to India and stood at Nanoli stud farm.
Let me detail it out.

Zenana - Sri Pekan x VISTULA
Vistula - Posen x TAJNAIK

Tajnaik was imported around 1992/93 and her first foal to race in India was:
KILSHANNIG - Superpower x Tajnaik

Kilshannig won The Sir Harisinghji  Trophy ( Gr.3 ), Fillies and Mares Stakes ( Gr.3 ). She ran 3rd in Sprinters Classic as well as in the Indian 1000gn.

The 2nd foal of Tajniak was:
MASTER OF THE ROLLS - Tiajuana x Tajniak
Master Of The Rolls won The Turf Club Trophu ( Gr.2 ), Western India Owners Trophy ( Gr.3) besides placing in few other black-type races.

The 'class' influence for Lagarde probably filtered down from Tajniak.

Zenana[USA] was bred in 1997 by Mullins Bloodstock Inc. at Doninga Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. She arrived in India in 1999 by air.

      As per Indian Stud Book, ZENANA, the dam of La Terrasse, was born in USA. Where have you got the story of her being born on a ship ? Horses no longer travel by ship these days

Lagarde has became a Champion Horse in India after beating Sovereign Land by 1. 1/4 lengths clocking a time of more than 2 my 32 seconds as as claimed by its  owners in the presentation ceremony and as well by many experts. 

Before calling it a Champion Horse and going into its pedigree details, let us wait for Indian Derby results. I think that should be fair enough.
