Thank you for your input. I know that Win/SHP combinations are good. I am posting this topic for forcast players. This strategy works very well in International races where return on forcast is very high. Patiences is the key for the big hit.

Very difficult to understand my strategy!

I do not think I have used complicated words.  Just like any punter picking a horse for win or place, I pick two horses that I fancy to finish first & second.

It is tough.  Terribly frustrating.  Many times, the horse that I nominate for win  finishes 2nd or 4th or still worse.  And even if it wins, the horse nominated for 2nd place should end SHP.  A tall order.  In extremely lucky times, I can boast of 2 wins in 10 attempts.  But, 85% (or more) of my bet will generally fail.

When failure is almost certain, why I bet?  I have said already that dividends are decent/handsome.  Jut think of those people who bet trinella, exacta pools.  I have seen people risking as much as 1000/- or 1500/- for an exacta pool in a single race.  

Presently I am buying 20/25 tickets by risking 200/- or 250/-.   Yesterday I had 3 bets.  The only winning bet was 6-5 in race no 3.  Paid 1600/- for 20 tickets.

People who bet with bookies in the denominations of 1100, 2200, 5500/- or more on one horse end up losers in at least 6 of the 10 bets.  Even if all 100 bets from me fail, the loss is around 25,000/-.  The good news is that , I am not that much unlucky.  As told earlier, I maintain a very low striking rate.  And for 100 bets, I require at least 50 race days.

Now, let me ask you two questions.  Do you bet on forecast pool.?  What is your strike rate?

          Key to profit in your system is your selected horse placing first or second. Yesterday, if you had played your selected horse 50 Win and 50 SHP on Betindia you would have earned more than your forecast combinations.

         Out of your six selections yesterday, five came first or second. Is this your normal strike rate ?

Yes. 1 to 5 top horses. Incase of horse no 2 & 3 scatches than 1 4 5 6 7. For eg.

Your fancied horse no 9 and horses scatched 3 & 5 Set 1 9-1, 9-2, 9-4, 9-6, 9-7.

Set 2 1-9, 2-9, 4-9, 6-9, 7-9 I hope you understood.

After a very long, long wait,  I am seeing  a post from a horsetalk member on forecast.

Well.  Your idea is instead of betting no-5 win 5 tickets & no-5 shp 5 tickets, one may choose to bet forecast 5-1,2,3,4,6 & 1,2,3,4,6-5.  At a cost of 100/-, the same cost that is for win & shp 5 tickets each.

I employ a slightly tougher approach.  Select 2 horses that I fancy to finish 1,2 & bet 20 tickets or 25 tickets.  Sometimes the bet would be 40 tickets & 50 tickets too.

Strike rate is not much to crow about.  Around 12 to 15.  That is if I bet 100 tickets, I know as much as 85 bets will surely fail.  But whenever my bets click, I get some decent dividends.  There are several days when my bets fail totally.  But, the loss is minimum.

Of course one can not play 100 tickets or 200 tickets on forecast.  Majority of those who bet forecast pool wll buy 10 or 15 tickets.  Some try 20, 25, 30 or 50 tickets.

Happily, no bookie takes bet on exotic pools.

Do you set any limits in your combination based on number of horses running in the race ?? Do you still play the same combination if there are 6-7 horses running on a particular race??
