By Anil Xk | 07-Feb-2021

Recently retired Trainer G. Nithyanand Passed away due to short illness. He was assistant trainer for more than 25 years and made his presence felt with a mediocre pedigree horse Invador by winning Bangalore Derby. My heartfelt condolences to his family and relatives.

Om Shanti

Ma ny  years ago  perhaps  12 or 15 years  ago  I was  introduced to  him  by  a  common  friend - a  Bangalorean, who usd  to  visit  India  twice  a  year  from  US  during  summer  Derby  and  winter Derby  periods. In  the evening  we  went  to  his  stable and had  a  look at  some  of  his  wards - one  of  which  was  going  to  run  next  day. IHe  did run  and  won. ..

A soft  spoken person  but  with  strong  conviction - he  was.

Rest  in  peace, may  god  bless  you. My  heartfelt  condolences  to  the  family.

Farewell Nthya, you have been dealt a bad hand by fate. You certainly deserved to be around for more time but then, fate and destiny does not will as per our wish.

I did enjoy the card seassions with you as part of the froup. Though not very regular at that, like me, but certainly did give good company whenever you chose to join.

I shall certainly miss the gentle and calm demeanor of yours. First Kuts ( C.A. Kutappa - one with deep resonating voice and a booming laughter ), then Jaggy ( J.S.Dhariwal - the sleepy Joe who napped more than played at the table ) and now you. All gone from the table forever. Your absence will be felt for long.

Farewll, Nithya!

I pray for eternal bliss and salvation for your departed soul.

With profound grief,
Cruise
