You asked ITR what he is dong here if he is not tipping or betting, well there is something called passion. One can remain in sport just for thrill like watching cricket, you dont need to bet. But a senile nincompoop will not understand it. If ITR is not betting or tipping then he is the wisest of all here. Better than a loser and much much better than a ignoramus loser who think he is a winner. 

Well someone tipping 14 horses for 6 races n getting one winner that too a favorite, doesnt have moral right to criticise others for not tipping. But offcourse that applies to a person of values and morals.

Yes my post was very vague.Just for further elaboration what I propose to achieve is like Time Form Rating of a horse I am looking to see a Value for Time Clocked by a Horse on a Common Datum for comparision of chances of horse in a Race.

I know it is complicated and may not yield any great insight into the chances.

For a long time I used to Analyse races by Ratings only comparing my Ratings with Official Ratings with some success.However,I have come across some races where Ratings Analysis fails miserably.

An example of this is recent Win by Smashing Blue its OR is 70 and it ran in the Race for which 50Kg maps to 81 taking Corfe Castle OR any other horses rated above 81as reference.So it was outhandicapped by 5.5Kg ie 11 Ratng points and it Won.

On timing whether one could have an inkling of its chances.

Now I know what I am attempting is a foolish but from your Database for last 2 seasons can we arrive at  a Median Time for a Centre,for a Clasa and for a Distance.

Taking a Centre,a track(Monsoon) if we have such values then chances of runners in a Race can be evaluated.

Tomorrow the Terms Races of Multifacted is very interesting race.

It has horses from Mumbai,Bangalore and Mysore.Either by Ratings Or by Timings it is a tough race.OR for that matter the 45-65 race where Mumbai,Bangalore and Hyderabad horses are participating.

Many seasoned punters can predict by their own systems but to pick a Winner by calculations gives some thrill even it is off the mark.

Hope I sound more clear on what I am looking at.

        You claim that Karl Umrigar's accident took place in the straight and that you saw it with your own eyes. From my bookish knowledge and sitting in Calcutta I say it happened in the mile chute.

Regarding the VASUDHA incident, I am dam sure that day you were not there.KARL did fall at the backstretch ..and not in home stretch.Its true that the hoofs of VASUDHA kicked him on his ribs,That time we used to get a magazine called TURF TALK which clearly described the incident with location of fall and photos.Also intervene screen at Bangalore ,I was there in of. If Malavika has attained "immortal" status among horsetalk members, then 99%  credit should be given to Chanakya and the remaining 1% should be shared between ITR (yourself), other horsetalk members & me.   I can understand if it (Malavika)  paid him 3/1 or still higher odds.  But the odds were mostly double dash and Chanakya claimed that he forced the bookie to pay him 1/4th win odds, that too "as per rules".   

The 82 units or points that he claimed as won during 2019-20 winter was a big bogus claim.  Myself & to some extent "Auditor" have punctured his claim balloon.  Yet that has not stopped hm from making a laughing stock of himself.  I think you could have avoided that line of giving him benefit of doubt.

There are some tipsters among horsetalk (like Godzilla) who feels that you should tip on races.   My only answer to all such friends is "tipping should be voluntary, and no one should goad any body else to tip".

Chanakya says he has some secret magic to win in races.  But is he really a winner?  I emphatically say that he is no better than me.  He must have lost substantially (at least 10 times more than my loss) but keep on roaring that he is a winner.  Perhaps, he believes that a lie repeated several times will claim the status of "fact".

      Unfortunately, I do not capture micro data of the kind I think you are seeking. I also want to say that I have not quite uderstood what you want. If you can let me know what exact details you require for each race and for how many races, I can check out possibility of researching required data. I would really like to help since I know you are devoted to improve your system

     On the subject of systems, Phil Bull's TIMEFORM became a trendsetter  in immediate years after WW II. Over the years that organisation has refined the system and have very sophisticated facilities at Halifax. TIMEFORM race card has been available for a few days now on this website and I have kept their details out of curioisty. From 21 July 2021 till today they have given 102 tips (one per race). The tip is usually the hgihest rated horse. So far the system has given 26 winners out of which 14 are first favourites and overall they are in red.

      You may be able to use these details to assess your own system. These races were UK races and I do not know how the TIMEFORM system works in different environments. For instance, I know from my data that the system of winning favourites in India is higher than in UK but the average winning odds are lower.

      One other point about systems. Every system reaches a saturation point beyond which improvement is very minute.

      "Do they bet on their selections ?" Difficult to say. One tipster gave about 750 tips from November 2020 to March 2021 covering many Indian centres. If you add 10 % tax that comes to 850 bets and at Rs. 100/- per bet it comes to an investment of Rs. 85,000 over five months. About 190 of his tips were successful and 130 of them were first favourites. His remaining 60 winners would have to be at average odds of atleast 7/1 to break even.

     The other is "Successful tipping does not translate into profit automatically". Well said.

YOu can not  tip and  don't  bet then  what  are  you doing in  racing  -doing  clerical  job  of  maintaining  records? Does  this  job  make  you eligible  to  claim any  position of  importance?

 My  offer of  50K to  500K given  to  Kautilya  still stands and  i  hereby  add you  also now. I will deposit 100K for Kautilya and 100K for  you a total  of  200K  while each  of  you  will deposit 100K only making  it  a  total  of  400K. The  judge  can  deduct  10% or  20-25% as  his remunration. If  Glasgow Prince  accepts then it  is  ok  for me  but if  he  refuses then we  have to  find  another judge...

I have  been  going  to  Mahalaxmi since  mid  70's    and  always  in  members  enclosure which allows defence  officers on  a  nominal annual  fee. Your  ignorance is  clear and  confirms  you  have  never  been there or have  any  knoledge  of  rules  and  regulations  of  RWITC!

        You can do it yourself. When some tipster catches your eye when he has had a good day, don't blindly follow him the next day. Just check what tips he gave previous ten days, compare with actual results and you will get your answer.

     I also don't make false claims. Malavika can never be a dead and gone case. It will be always quoted because it is historical fact. Another of your false racing claims was your cock and bull story about Karl Umrigar's fall which claim you watched from Members Stand. Your versions was that Umrigar fell in front of stands in a big field when the fact is that accident took place in mile should and there were only three runners.

     False racing claims can be ignored but you have made other tall claims and I don't know why you made them except to blow your trumpet.

      1.   You claimed having seen action in 1965 war. You had not even joined Air Force then.

       2. You have claimed being a member of RWITC. RWITC has no record anyone called Brij Mohan Kaushik or Chanakya. May be  you used another name.  

      3. You have recently claimed being 82 plus. I have my doubts so for time being I will give you benefit of doubt.

It is interesting to see that you specialise in Data Analysis and conclude that many a tipster including Time Form is not in plus.

I suppose your Database covers other parameters also like Class Handicap Distance Time clocked by Winner etc.

I am trying to see if by one parameter one can pick a sure Place horse.Towards this i am attempting Normalised Time of a horse for 1600 Mtrs at a Reference Penetrometer reading referred to the Lowest Class.In this connection from your Database can you provide for some values for the Parameters like

  Change of Distance from Race Distance to 1600 Mtrs ie Additional Time after prorating.

 Chanege of Class from Distance of Race to Lowest Case ie 0(1) -25(26)

If you need any more information I can provided.

My project is if you normalise to a Distance and Lowest Class the Time clocked by  all horses will be on Common Sclae and easy to compare instead of calculating every time

I have manyrimes changed my bet at the last minute and I have seen several others do too.

The electrifying atmosphere in the betting ring, the clues and signals , real and false ensnaring from the paddock parade, the changing odds all have an effect in the betting decision.

Selection is one thing.

Betting  decision  is entirely another.

    I regret to say that I have to very reluctantly turn it down. You see, I am a few years elder than you. At my age, I am not looking for compliments but I will lose sleep if my Day's Best loses and causes financial loss to someone who backed it only because I gave it as Day's Best.

Motee disappeared  in  mid 70's nd  then Money spinner , later Lucky spinner both  by  late JV Shukla  came  and  disappeared after  his  death and  the  thread  was  picked  by  by  another one - Gupta (photographer)   and  later  on BOL 'was' born....

Databas  has  no  value UNLESS you   are ABLE  TO  CORRECTLY AND  HONESTLY interpret  it  without  any  bias...

We as a general in HT sometimes get confused which leading tipster to follow and end up loosing money.

It will be of great help if you can publish the data of some leading tipsters of HT for every month or two so that common people who struggle to distinguish good tipsters and bad are able to do so

      Racing has many different specialised fields. I think interaction between people of different fields helps to improve in our own field. My field is data analysis. 

     In very old days when Mumbai was Bombay, we had two race books. Cole and Motee. Both used to give their tips and also tips of five prominent Bombay newspapers. My first data project for my own curiosity was to check the tips of these tipsters for one complete Bombay season. I found that all of them were in minus at end of season. I have carried out similar exercises periodically and I am yet to come across one tipster who is plus over sufficiently lengthy period. Recently, indiarace is publishing tips of TIMEFORM, which is world famous organisation. Even TIMEFORM is in minus so far.  So I have come to conclusion that tipping to "help" punters is hopeless task and it is not for me. So don't expect any tips from me.

     I can "help" punters more by analysing records of tipsters so they know which are good, which are so-so and which are bad. But I don't do it because I have no wish to hurt anyone. If you want, I can provide statistics of your tips every month. Maybe it will help you to better your methodology. But only if you want it. 

     Today your tips did well at Catterick. If you had given only one choice per race, you would have had an excellent day. By giving two choices, you eaten into your own profits. Data analysis comes up with such such interesting points.

    If sometimes I do post something which is factually incorrect, please feel free to point out.  It will help me to improve my data analysis.

Ultimaterluy it amounts to where one stands. I am the person, who also go in for longer odds. Since its begining of the season, one should see the trend and go for longer odds. Such intricacies matter while tipping.

      It is very clear on whose behalf you are writing.

      Person studying form and giving tips will always come up with form horses. Everybody knows form is good sometimes but not always. There is no pressure on anyone to follow anyone's tips. You don't like person's tips don't follow them. 

     When form horses fail, outsiders win. You can find outsiders by astrology, numerology, crystal ball, parrot reading, tarrot, pin method.

     Important point for tipster is to ensure his followers win some money or lose only small amounts. Is there anyone who gives enough outsiders to get profit. I have record of one tipster who gave tips on Uk racing regularly in July. He had one 33/1 winner, one 13/1 winner, three 11/1 winner, one 9/1 winner and one 7/1 winner in one month. But if you had backed each of his tips for Rs. 10 only, you would have lost Rs. 1186 in month of July. This tipster published his tips in HT so it was easy to do calculation.

     Show me any tipster who gives clear tips in HT regularly and who you think is out of box champion. I will maintain records for 30 days and we can see how good he is.

I do not think bookies functioned anywhere in India.  Anyway, please correct me if my thinking was wrong.

At HYD, there was Rs. 1,00,000/-  being the carried forward amount was added to the jackpot pool.  And, betting at HRC & play.hydraces are combined.  So, it is not at all surprising that dividends at HRC (or play.hydracing) for multileg pools is substantially higher compared to betindiaraces.

The dividends declared are proportional to the sales.  For eg, the trinella in the last race at HYD was whopping 87k, whereas at betindiaraces, the trinella carried over is 10k.  I do not think there is any foul play.

I had invested 160/- in jackpot.  Got 1112/- as consolation.  My ticket was on Akshay Kumar & Trevor in all races.  (Battle ready was banker & Akshay Kumar + Trevor in other four legs).  Thank God, AK won 4 races in a row!  

I do not invest regularly in jackpot pool.  My favorite pool is forecast.

1-14 KEYSTONE - By Winlegend. After couple of 2nds in Hyderabad, ran a very good 3rd in a million race in Mumbai. Should see the winning post this time. Miss little Angel is a very good place bet. New comers should be considered for future.

4-6 BATTLE READY - Ran creditable races in class4 and now running in the lower category with Akshay on board and also running with mainly 5yr olds.

5-1 CORFE CASTLE - Is a class above all. With an apprentice riding -3.5Kg should not get beat. Lightning Bolt, Premier runs longer distance and Smashing Blue who ran behind CC in Mumbai cannot reverse placings.

6-1 BEST BUDDY - By Planetaire. Winner of its last race in a G3 race over 1600m impressively. Should repeat easily in this bunch. My Days Best.

7-4 DUE DELIGENCE - A class 4 horse, who ran decent and was consistent, now running in this lower category should not loose with TP on board. Should win easily.

you could be wrong. CORFE CASTLE is the best horse here. Atleast two classes superiro to this set. If they had put PT , it would have run at 50 paise. That is why they have opted for a Apprentice.Two advantages, Handicap is reduced by 3.5 kg, in fact its 1/2 kg less than its last winning handicap. today even at 63.5 with PT it would have donkey licked this field.

SMASHING BLUE has never performed outside HYDERABAD, it has always failed,. LIGHTNING BOLT needs minimum 7f to perform

As u pointed correctly BTC should not  charge so much for entry fee 

There should b ethics to fix entry fee No justification if u see the BTC facility in side it is pathetic No proper chairs old speaker's hope those speakers are scrape we can not hear properly in members stand 

At least  some of commitee committee members should go through all facilities are better to close  Racecourse 

Hope members will understand 

And bring  entry fee to normal 

Racing is a good sport 

Committee members should encourage not to put burden on public

There were several carried over amounts in the previous day's HYD races. 

In the races held on 15/March/2021, there were c/o amounts of JPP pool 95,228/-, two treble pools of Rs. 4022 & 3641, an exacta pool of Rs. 45,670/- in the 8th (last) race  of the day and trinella pool of Rs. 79,049.  I only hope that the club will add these c/o amounts to the respective pools tomorrow.
