Alicia The Champion Horse Has Arrived

By Godzilla | 22-Sep-2021

Born Queen clocked 1.38.84 to cover the mile trip [Nilgiris Gold Cup].

In the next Race [Nilgiris Derby] event, ALICIA clocked 1.38.43 for the mile trip, which indicates ALICIA is better by 2 1/2 lengths than the Champion Horse BQ.

ALICIA clocked better timings in its maiden win, that too, in a Classic, which should be noted.

Thanx Godzilla  for the info about the timings..I'm sure u r aware with these pace factors before u posted...though i truely also believe that timings is just a parametric method , IT DOES MAKE A LOT OF DIFFERENCE IN ANY APPROCH OF HANDICAPING THAT WE ALL USE..APART FROM THE STARS N MOON FACTOR..WHICH ALSO HAVE THERE OWN APPROACH TO FINDING THE WINNER NOS (NO DISREGARD FOR ANY) ..  THANX AGAIN FROM ALL WHO SEES THIS AS A REALLY IMPORTANT FACTOR ????????

Hello Mr Godzilla, it's end of career for Alicia, take it to Mumbai, you would see the fate of the animal, it will not even pass through Class 3 in Mumbai. Pesi is also aware of it, an animal that wins a classic in B class centre should not be taken back to Mumbai, it should stay in South to see may classics though. But he sees not have a stable in the south

    Consider, both Bisate, Ascoval & Knotty Dancer as "Standard Scale" for the purpose of study of timings, good exercise to compare present time/era horses of different centres. It will give an opaque & clumsy picture but help in future to study a set/race animals.

    Timings, are a dangerous parameter that's why self used the negative word #Opaque/Clumsy#, bcz self believe in one maxim**Horses Run Against Horses,Not Against The Clock**.It reveals more about temperament & relative fitness of an horse, as per my insignificant opinion.

  So much literature available in market about ratio of different race track timings, relative performances & further to talk in this respect, treat it,on comparable terms, truly as simple as ***Reborn/Rebirth Of Famous/Popular Prem Chandra,Hindi Writer Or Shyam Benegal, Director, Bollywood***.

   Some Experts,More Self Styled,Hit & Run Policy Followers(Talibani Commanders), can enlighten us in best way.

  All the best.

Godzilla sir,

Timings are not considered it is pace of that particular race where horse stands with.each horse has got different burst of speed, where he put his best strides forward,it may be 100,150,200,may be 250 meters up to winninng post, that is what a good jockey need to utilise till post, often you might have seen a horse which goes ahead early by 2 lenghths 3 lenghths goes down 50 meters before the winning post .

@Chintu: Rightly said. Infact all the first four horses in Alicia's race recorded timings better than BQ.

One Swallow Never Makes a Summer. We have to see how these horses mature and progress further in subsequent runs.

Yes, just cannot go with the timing. Sea Quest broke the record @ Bangalore. It is yet to win a race. There are several other cases also. It is still early days and several horses yet to show their mettle. Alicia's trainer has Miracle and few others.

@godzilla,

One can not judge horse potential on timings. Timings depend upon pace of the race and some other factors also.

Timings are not only to be noted as there are other factors too. If you closely watch at the final 200m, BQ was rided with only hands and heels without whip and also final 50m with tight reigns. But not the case with Alicia. And also the race also depends on the pace of the other horses too.
