If you glance at results you will notice so many times we'll backed favorite or second favorite mysteriously comes good fourth.According to me place bet is only for trainers and not for punters.place gives you pseudo confidence to back at miserable odds.If you have patience and reproducible system to spot winners then and only then you may make money.

yesterday in mumbai i backed kings retreat in the second race for place and it was on board.So today will be my second roll bet.

In the second race,there are two horses 6.Kings retreat and 7.prides prince.Back any one of them for place it is in top two favourites and has 60p or above for place.

 I think of myself and the person you talk about mr.vamanan are a like   minded persons.Even I make these type of roll place bets and tasted     success on my 5th attempt.   

 As Godzilla sir said,one must have abundant patience.Yes,he is right       about that but how much is the question here?

Well I follow this and hope one can find answer here if you can follow these pointers :- 

1.Minimum 8 and maximum 12 runners in a race.

2.Has to be the favourite or the second favourite only.

3.Only back it,if it is 60p or above.

4. Has to be 3 or 4 year old only.

5. It should have atleast one run in the same season on the same race course.

6. Applicable to only Handicap races. 

7. Should have the morning track in the last 6 days.                                          [ For 1200m - track required 1000m-800m, skip if it has 600m or 1200m.        For 1400m - track required 1000m-1200m,skip if it has 800m or 600m.        For 1000m - track required  800m, skip if it has 600m or 1000m.                    For 1600m or more - track required atleast 1000m and should have run                                          in a race of 1400m or more]

8.Applicable to all race centres except Delhi and ooty.

You can find atleast 8 to 10 runners with these pointers in a week.

I try to back atleast 5 place bets and combine them with 3 win bets,so total 8 bets in a roll within a week.

With patience,time and experience any individual can taste success by rolling small amount to get big amount.[ ROI 25x and above ]

I have seen Punters who pursue the Place Policy so religiously ! !

Some observations, not about this policy, but the psychology of patrons...

almost always the investment is on Favourite horses, not courageous enough to invest on 2/1 place or longer odds place. Inability to think beyond PLACE and Favourites.. Not studying the Card in detail, Nervousness as horses near 200 mts..!! :) :)

Roll bet is a sure road to bankruptcy. Because the law of averages will catch up with you. 

    Praising the bookmakers is another bankrupt idea. All evils that are happening in racing are because of bookmakers!

If you can tell your average bet size before this strategy and the last bet you made which helped you reach 50k , you will understand yourself, the risk you are taking.

By the way, if you can find a place bet around 80p , which passes around most of the time, then you will be a decent winner in the long run and dont need any strategy or method.

Anyway Destroyer came third but no payment for 3rd Horse in 5 horses race

In a project like the one I have suggested it may not be wise to invest on Destroyer for place.when third horse payment not possible. You must invest only when there are 8Horses race.

What I have suggested take it as a project while you can go on your for regular betting but keep this money separate to roll 5 7 times 

At least make an attempt.

You get revenue only if you bet big amount.

Your  own investment only a small rest comes from the Book makers only !!

Imagine Bookmakers are our ATM machine your investmentv is your Bank Card

Hose no is your Pin number for with drawing money. if you type wrong number you will not get money 

Playing on place is your own intelligence.

Roll bets are a huge risk. Unit bets are safe and practical. Also, there is nothing called 'sure' place in racing. I remember an old man coming with his grown up son to Chennai course some 20 to 25 years ago, only to play so-called sure places. He will wait for them and bang such place horses. Most of the time while going home he used to tell me 'I lost heavily today playing two sure places at 6/10 and 7/10'. Most of the punters think favorites are safe bets or place bets around even money are also pretty safe. But according to me even a 10/1 win or a 5/1 place is safe. What you need to be sure about is the merit of the horse. Finally, no need to praise bookies without reason as they are the people who often confuse the punters by giving wrong odds. For example, an animal like 'Destroyer' which had not run 2400 m should not have been opened as the favorite. Knowing the mood of the punters, the bookies further confused the poor punters by keeping 'Sea the Sun' at 3/1, thereby drawing our attention away from 'Long Lease' which was offered at 3-3/4. What I wish to know is how many punters have amassed wealth like a majority of the bookies who do not know where to hide their earnings.

with the same concept, if I had invested my final consolidated amount on destroyer for place ( which was very certain for win) I would have left with nothing.. even paisa horse goes for toss over placing s they know that many people play place amount on sure shot horses
