Nice selection on Augusto and Pink Jasmine 

Out of 7 races , Three races produced blanket finishes . In 2 races all four places involved close finishes while in the other races first three places were contested close.

1. Official handicapper must be congratulated for his hard work in assigning weights.

2. The owners, Trainers and Jockeys were sporting enough to contest the issue till past the winning post.

That augurs well that d spite many a hiccups , high stakes gambling , the sport is still comparatively open and clean.

The administrators may do well to maintain and improve such good contests and close finishes.

Bangalore Races - January 19, 2024:

Race 1: 3-y o races are best avoided. Still, if a chance is to be takenm it would be on 5- RANQUELINO (F Norton) who is tracking well. PLACE should be a safe, good bet.

Race 2: Lower division of 20-45 category, to be run over 1600M. There are 8 tired looking runners and flow of money will decide the outcome. An upset can never be ruled out in such races. I will look for 7- SLING SHOT (S Hussain) to be that upset horse.

Race 3: Same race now upper division. Betting may focus on CASTANEDA and ARDAKAN, but my choice would be 7- RUSSIAN ROMANCE (Abdul Fazal). 

Race 4: 12 runners, 1200M, 40-65 category. Should be a good race. Difficult to get a cross form as most of the horses have beaten each other. My choice - 8- ULTIMATE STRIKER (R N Darshan)

Race 5: 2- IN THY LIGHT (Vivek G)

Race 6: 2- INYOUBELIEVE (P Trevor)

Race 7: 10- GREELEY ( L Alex Rozario) should make amends for last run failure.

Well, a strange selection with jockeys like S Hussain and Abdul Fazal . Let us see what the outcome is.

1-2 JERSEY KING - Benefit of a run over 1400m ridden by Inayat, recently had a mock race winning by 5L. Now with YS in the saddle should give an advantage. Many of the first timers might need the run to prove.

2-1 PELUCHE - Winning its last race in 12/22, running most of its race in class3 & 4. Last run was a close 5th over 1400m in bangalore. Previously ran well over 1600m. 3 MY VISION ran a close 5th over 1600m recently can be a good place bet.

5-1 STELLANTIS - Ran a good 5th in Chennai over 1600m in 2000 guineas, will be a different customer today. Previously TP rode and won its first three races who is on board today. 2 IN THE LIGHT coming after a gap of 7 months might need the run.

6-3 AUSPICOUS QUEEN - Ran decent races with much better company in term races.  Should run a different race in this class 2 event. 7 ELPENOR is coming after a gap of 6 months might need the run. 4 TOP DANCER is the danger for me who's last run over 2000m can be ignored can be a good place bet.

7-2 RAINBOW DREAMER - Ran a close 5th recently over 1200m with TP in the saddle. Previously Vivek G won on this horse in a maiden race who is coming to ride again.

RACE 2= CHINKY PINKY(4) Looks good for each way.

RACE 3= CASTANEDA(2) The best chance for him to win problem he will face is from ANTILOPE(8).

RACE 4= MILLBROOK(7) Each way chance.  One thing I am sure this race won't be favourite. Its tough race. Take risk only if necessary.

RACE 5= STELLANTIS(1) =This horse already had educational run in last two outings. It's test for Trevor Patel to guide him as winner.
