Horse racing is a sport where we think ourselves as a superhuman and a very intelligent person on earth..  which causes to lose our TIME, PATIENCE, WORK , FAMILY, MONEY , PROPERTY, BIKE, CAR , AND MANY MORE..

Thank you very much for putting up such a wonderful question. But before I answer let me first make it very clear that sir this forum have given all of us a opportunity to learn something new everyday. 

It's an honour for me where already Mr. Godzilla sir, Mr. Sunil Sir, Mr. Govindrajan sir, Mr. Decent punter sir , Mr. Ashok Mysore sir are sharing their views. 

Now Godzilla sir I come to your question yes I also suffered lots of loose of money in this industry when I use to play randomly. I almost hanged my boots and said bye to this industry. Than one day while searching I came to  know about Mr. Zeljko Ranogajec, the world most famous punter from Australia. also known as," The Joker" I liked his one quote 'In Gambling if you don't learn by mistake than you are stupid "  And his other quote "Quit when you earn"

I know I was not doing anything wrong but what I was doing most time was I use to leave my horse because of odds or some one going behind other n i following them. Mainly was second. 

In 2022 season I was left with just 25k and I knew it's do or die. Trust me sir that 25k is now more than  many times in my bank and I am able to run my four member family from that money. 

I shared my views was not to show I know much better than others , I shared because I know when you don't have money in pocket even your shadow will leave you.  I always tell my friends n known punters to be cool and if they earn 2-3 k per day it's more than enough. You can't become millionaires in one day but yes if you keep patience one day you will

Your work you do Saidas I am 69 years in age n i have being into horse racing for almost 40 years of my life. I always follow this horse talk because I also get few good horses.  I agree with your points specially never play by seeing jockey and their is no luck involved,  it's your mistake n you will pay for it. Saidas kher I don't know what's your age is but as you mentioned that you are into horse racing only since one decade and the experience you shared is mind blowing. @krishna brother no bookies know who is going to win.... This I am saying because I have involvement both as bookie and punter dear. I can challenge any Pandit who says bookies knows before racing. No they don't... 

Racing is not a easy sport..Many pandits or self styled  pandits after one or two good days  are humbled by this great sport.

Sir,as regards point no.6 there is luck factor which always play its role in horseracing whenever my horse loses in photo over an outsider horse it is due to my bad luck not due to my selected horse,similarly when my outsider horse beats favorite horse in photo it is my good luck,sometimes when i tries to bet on my selected horse but before the betting completes stop bet issued by the betting website and my selected horse wins the race that is due to bad luck.So the luck factor is always there in horseracing.

        Please practice first what you preach before teaching it to others. 

          In the absence of any definite theory in horse racing, it is not possible to earn money regularly. This is what happening invariably in all speculative sports including horse racing.. My advice is we should not pursue this very seriously as it will hamper our regular office work or business activities considerably. 

         Pleasr treat this sport as a pleasure game rather a treasure game.  There is no godfather in this game.

Excellent piece of writing by Mr. Saidas. Excuse me for narrating my lown experience. 

I played at BTC and only on Tote. Many of the points mentioned by Mr. Saidas are true and I have implemented them successfully. My golden period was in the nineties , when the betting tax on BTC tote was only 4? ( on win & place). Subsequently BTC went on increasing the tax to 14? by 2015 but still it was manageable. 

 Come 2017 , GST was introduced and the betting tax (& club commission) went upto 35?.The not too attractive payments made survival difficult. Post Covid the gate money was increased multifold (from  20 ? earlier ) . Then they started deducting 30? on every payment. ( online Apps). 

My point is-- taxes, commissions, deductions,& allied expenditures have made the life of a race goer a hell. . It is extremely difficult to finish a raceday with profit in the pocket. The game is no longer about catching a winning horse.

I appreciate you sharing your experiences. It seems like these are the golden rules for successful punters.

Sai sir really very impressed with your thoughts   One thing I need to tell you that before I use to play all races. But after I read in one of your article that one shall play selected races I have started making money.

SAIDAS KHAR what you have written is true but every punter who is in racing for more than 3 - 4 years knows this. which ever strategy you follow. you play one race , you play all the races. you chase your losses or you dont. the bottom line is it is very difficult to win in racing.

You saying jockey does not matter it's horse.  How to look out for such horses.. 

That's the true meaning of gambling and a life of a punter. I totally agree with you. A punter should contral the limit of them selfs or else it's a gone case. EOD it's the individual money and decision as said how you started and when you quit on a certain day.
