B Fifty with Sandesh was a half money favorite and had beaten Jigsaw by 15 lengths in Mumbai. It was a 2 horse race. 

Its a sweepstakes race and therefore has to be held even if theres one horse left in which case its a walkover.

RWITC  is the pioneer in running 2 or 3 horses races. There was million race sponsered by a famous gold jewellery co and I think only 3 horses ran. Usually, RWITC will declare races at the handicap stage only if there are only 3 or less horses.They will surprise with such 3 horses races with some hidden agenda. Sunday there's a 3 horses race in Mumbai. One horse in that race is Truly Epic, a 9 year old. This horse has run the maximum number of races between 2000 - 3200 mtrs in a field of 4 or less. It is running for the place stakes for the last 3-4 years with a lucky solitary win also. Sunday's race is also to pay the stakes to the already leading owner/trainer some more stake money and add some value to the breeder.

I rememberb way back in the year 1999 Poona Season it was 3200  mtr race only 2 horses were competing

There were single horse race(walk over) twice in Hyderabad long ago::first instance D M Hill trained Saucy Sheila.,second instance Habibullah trained Mighty Martina(I am not sure about the trainers name)..when M M was given walkover the fav in that race CONGRATULATIONS was withdrawn..if my memory is wrong kindly correct me..

In Mumbai I have seen a two horse race between Temerity and B Fifty two...temerity was a hot favorite which lost to B fifty two ...

Dear, It Happened Even In Hyderabad. 

Nothing New.

Hyderbad had a field of two horces in a race once. This Race became controversial as there was a enquiry stating that both jockeys were trying to lose.

In Mumbai there was a race few years back with only two horses running. This race was also controversial as the trainer of Teremity(Shroff) hot favourite was not satisfied with the riding of jockey Neeraj Rawal as the favourite lost.

Mumbai also had a race with a single horse. I don't remember the horse name but M. Narredu was the jockey.

Right it's history created by RCTC this is first time two acceptances have happened... Earlier three times twice in Mumbai n once in kolkata when acceptances was three but with withdrawn it came to two... In short this is first time in racing history that two acceptances have happened n it will be declared on race day by RCTC. Well done Bengal we Bengalis are proud of RCTC 

Banerjee dada you are right see everyone is guessing but no one is able to give exact date. I am from RCTC n it's first time k. KOLKAta yes once it have three acceptances in Mumbai n Kolkata n one got with drawn... But in indianhistory this is first time that two acceptances n race is conducted.. Good job Mr. Banerjee... We Bengal always create history

It has happened in RCTC earlier also. Many  years back on the  very  next day of Indian Derby there was a race of two horses, one ridden by jockey J Ruben and other one by his brother N Ruben. Irony is the  favorite lost though  the ultimate winner had lost a distance at the start due to slow start, and this has happened in a  1200 Mtrs race.

There had been a single horse race also, ridden  by Malesh Narrdu in RWITC in which  he rode from just 400 Mtrs in a canter (No Gallop). Of course without  odds.

Kolkata races on 17 Feb.24 when mallesh narred was jockey he rode a single horse complete the formalities,idont remember the horse name.

In Mumbai there was a race between B FIFTY TWO & TEMERITY in which B52 won on style under guidance of P TREVOR 

@Banerjee : just be cool. It has happenned before in Mumbai races. Walk over for a single acceptance in a race has happenned though I am not able to recollect the date , the race and the declared winner.

Leave the administrative matters.

Concentrate on decoding the selected races.

It happened in mysore also when 

M Nareedu is riding for dhunjiboy horse  there are two horses both are on 11/10 odds but one horse stumbled and withdrawn then N aredu horse ran. Fron 300 mtrs and declared as winner bookie paid the amount what played

Not in one only in many centers it happened in Mumbai also I can't remember the names 

Don't worry buddy RWITC achieved this feat long back. Unfortunately I don't remember the horse names, but paisa favourite lost trained by the master Pesi.

It has happened in Mumbai where Jacqueline from P.shroff yard and Midsummer Knight from Narendra Lagad Yard 

We often see two-horse racing in India, as no competitive races happen. So not excited for me. Horses run with company where stamina, strength, and ability matter. I am a fan of competitive races anyway. But as per rule, if one horse declares unfit, then the other needs to run that race; if the horse falls down, then the race would be declared null, and viod and bookies would open the odds just like they do when betting on two cricket teams.

If any one horse is withdrawn on medical grounds ,It will be a walk over race and the one horse should start and finish the winning post at the declared time. Regarding odds one horse will be 50/100 and the other horse will be offered 3/2.

170. In a race, other than a match, if only one horse shall have been declared to start, it shall be sufficient if that horse is weighed out, mounted and ridden past the Judge's Box when he/she shall be deemed the winner and it shall not be necessary for the horse to complete the entire course."
