Enough of taking pot shots at one another, and let me get down to the one we ought to concentrate on—the Champiion Horse, Juliette.

Till now, I considered Bhaktawar to be the best older horse to ever grace Indian racing, but after seeing Juliette's superlative performance last Sunday in the Invitation Cup at the age of eight, I have no hesitation in accepting that Juliette is the best ever champion older horse.

I am quite sure that her hat-trick of wins, along with two second-placed efforts, in the Invitation Cup will never be replicated.

I am hoping the Poonawalla keep her racing, and if they were to do that, then she can make it four in a row, as she is as sprightly as any youngster, even at this advanced age. I am also hoping that they do not get overly ambitious and take her to foreign shores to race, but if they do take her to mate with any acclaimed sire abroad, then I would say that was a welcome move and befitting the champion performer. But at the same time, they ought to keep in mind the fate of Wonder Filly Jaqueline when mated with Australia, for the resultant foal, Nicollini, proved to be dud. However, it could prove to be a success like it did with the past Inviation Cup winner, Running Flame, who produced the Bangalore Derby winner Borsalino, when crossed with Choisr.

It was a joy to behold the way she exploded in the straight, making the rest look pedestrian. At the same time, the fact that front-rusher Jamari was ridden off the pace still has me wondering as to what her connections had in mind when they opted to run her contrary to her strength.

Well, all said and done, as of now, all I can do to express my amazement is to call Juliette the reigning Empress of Indian Turf.

Titbit: Her explosive burst of speed reminds me of another MAM-owned champion horse, Southern Empire. He too decimated the field in the Invitation Cup held at Kolkatta many years back. For me, his turn of foot is the best I have ever witnessed in my racing career. In fact, his defeat in the Indian derby still rankles me to this day. As does the loss of one more of MAM-owned champion Be Safe in the Invitation Cup.

 

Great! It still rankles though that she clost the derby to War Hammer and invitation to Adjudicate. 

@Ramiyer yes you are right that when you Hail julliet as darling of crowd... No wonder the combination Ganpathi n Jodha under Late Ramaswamy concern n now Poonawala concern have always taken care of her in the best way. 

When you say about BESAFE tear start flowing from my eyes becaueei if it was not Narredu's combination than BESafe would have been as big as now is Juliet.... 

Thank God that juilliet is trained n ridden not by Narredu's.... This family might have achieved lots of goals but they  have always back stabbed punters.... Check their record n see only 10% of total win they achieved in their life is on favourite else all not favourite.... Check they have 90% of favourite failures under them... Shame on Narredu's 

Juliette eclipsed the glory of  the past  super stars including the likes of Be Safe and so on.Ramu sir might be enjoying all this from above.

One has to congratulate the owners and the trainer for keeping her training and allowing the racegoers to see a legend bloom in front of their own eyes. I wonder what they have planned for her now.!

Hail the majestic queen juliette, congratulations sir zavaray,and hats off to mr,karthik ganapathy in doing an amazing awesome piece of art in maintaining the mare in breathtaking pink of condition for so many years, I am very heart broken and sad that all forgot the unsung hero bhawani Singh who has been riding juliette every morning for so many years and knows the horse is every mood and the horse knows and loves its every day rider,an excellent rider jockey bhawani, but never given the opportunity to ride this wonderful horse in a race,,any pro would agree with me that if bhawani had to ride juliette she would have won effortless gladly for the rider  who she meets every morning for so many years,,I am very proud to state that juliette has clocked the timing of 2.26.78 ,The Hong Kong vase grade (1) 2400 meters, for the past four years was more than 2,27 only you  honorable sir zavaray can make the Indian flag fly proudly international once again with this amazing awesome majestic queen juliette

As it is said records are meant to be broken, but this record of Juliette, running in five Invitation cup and winning three of them in a row will stand for a very very long time. Cheers.

Veteran punter comparing selection of Ameerha in Mumbai n of other horses in invitation against Juliet itself shows lack of knowledge of that punter.  When Ameerha ran the bunch was open field and no one wA sure who will win even you went with synthesis  but  it was won by enabler whom no one gave chance.... Sai sir is absolutely true when he says it's lack of maturity when few tipster (Including you)  gave chance to others in front of Juliet....  

@Veteran punter backing of AMEERAH in Mumbai Derby among bunch of joker was not wrong because it was enabler a joker won n on same day when julliet ran I stood by her because she deserve that backing n in invitation cup when julliet is running with these bunch of jokers only a punter who does not know what horse racing is all about will back other than julliet..someone said bend is small age is against her but everyone forgot its class which matters age is just number.....Grow up dear its high time we got to see such horse appreciate it instead of criticising its choice....And last but not least comparing Mumbai derby with prestigious invitation cup.itself shows your knowledge in horse racing ....

Now we can consider greatest Indian racing history creator this wonder mare Juliette hatrick winner of Indian Turf Inviation Cup with track records in 3 different centres. Mumbai track is still not updated? Congratulations to winning connections especially matching Jk. C S Jodha.

Robert I am from kolkata n i tell you 99% punters backed julliet as much as their pocket permitted. Their were many gossip in the beginning but moment julliet cane into paddock with C. S. jodha and way jockey was smiling and when we saw other jockeys like Trevor suraj Yash Neeraj and all we became sure no one have got any answer to this Julliet.... The way punters will never forget julliet because the smile she gave on our face same way bookies will never forget Julliet because after along long time they faced situation that at any odds who ever played it was only one horse that is Julliet.... 

Even thought she had a little bit awkward start, she was cruising in the final stages of the race.  She was given only one tap . She smashed the opposition by 8 lengths and in a record time. She is the empress as hailed by her current owner .

People Sai that the straight is short for Juliette. Commentator said it's short , short for opponents. What a horse is Juliette is.

Aptly said champ. Trevor and Suraj and their respective trainers might have tried a waiting game  only chance of dethroning Julie. But this wondermare from wherever position simply demolished. Even if jendayi and enabler ran no ghost of a chance to beat her. Before the final bend in trice Julie came to third position after trailing 15 lengths or more.

Surely now she has more fan following than be safe once a darling of the crowd.Even after crossing the winning post how cool her head as though she has not run in this race. Very very difficult to break her record .Hats off to the trainer and jockey.

Wat an acceleration made at bend vandebharat.

I can't see any one Match her strength and fitness for another 2 - 3 years.. if run  Kudos to KG. If run again she will win. Records are to be broken . 

The empress of India sailed past horses half her age effortlessly speaks wonders of her ability with the crowd cheering her on with one more year .At 9 can she will she do it keeps murmuring on evwryones lips .There were many doubters who said she had aged and gone old but she proved age is just a number today..

I was fortunate to witness this live and this record may never be broken of this Wonder Woman ,the Empress of India ,the Queen of hearts 

Yes julliet shall be hailed as best horse ever to be born in Indiab racing and if everyone have noticed everyone centre horses .

As said earlier in my selections that those who were dreaming that Julliet will be beaten by bunch of jokers is nothing but act of immaturity of their racing knowledge. 

When julliet walked in paddock entire Kolkata punters came emptied their pocket n invested whatever amount they had on queen of Indian horse racing. 

I an not aware of other centres but I have never seen such a big line for collection of money from bookies by punters in my ten years of horse racing experience. 

I still don't understand how people even thought synthesis Jamari to beat the queen... 

Julliet what happens next I don't know but what trainer Mr. Arvind Ganpathi and jockey C.S.Jodha combination  have given to Indian horse racing that under any circumstances good horses can't be pulled off. ....

And in last let's all punter stand n say big thank you to RCTC for hosting such a true professional racing. All the deserving horse won n came to place. We all punters should be thankful to God that in such tough time RCTC hosted such big event totally on merit.
