Good article ???? indian horse racing is raising slowly after COVID, two years and three horse race must conduct in every centre horse number are not good in every center specially in Mumbai, Kolkata. every time we see repeated horse are running , training methods should improve, breeding management should focus on increasing horse number , comings years will be fruitful for horse racing lovers.

YES ...NOWDAYS RACING IS BETTING ONLY AND NOT AN EVENT. THE LEGACY OF EAGERNESS HAS GONE.

THE PASSION FOR ATTENDING THE RACING IS DRASTICALLY FALLEN. 

FROM 2015 THE SITUATION IS GETTING MORE WORST WHEN GST  STARTING APPLICABLE ON THIS ROYAL SPORT. NUMBER OF DAYS, HORSES  HAS BEEN REDUCED.TO ALMOST 50%, WHICH HAMPERED THE HANDICAP RACING.

HOPE SITUATION MAY CHANGE .LIKE GOOD DAYS BAD DAYS ALSO HAVE ENDINGS. 

In fact racing can be made parallel cricket, If the following remedial measures are taken by clubs.

1. All india tote need be introduced so that cumulative dividends would be sizeable to invest or bet.

2. Entry fees shall be reduced to ?150/- from existing ?250/- and if at all it is more than that amount punters shall be made benefit by way of food, snacks, ice creams ,tea, coffee and cool drinks,mineral water bottles by way of non exchangeable coupons.

3. Most of the clubs are utilising out dated technology, the clubs shall be modern in this aspect. If objection is raised , the details of objection shall be displayed on the screen by scrolling.

4. Lucky draw shall be held each day with all entrant tickets by giving 10 percent of share of entrance tickets revenue with 50,30,20 ratio to 3 punters. This will be an added attraction.

5. Lastly but not least clubs shall see and monitor hygienic taste food in their canteens by giving liberal subsidies.

Problem with Indian Turf Clubs is they do not want common people to part and parcel of Racing. An average middle class person can afford to own a race horse in syndicate racing. unfortunately Syndicate Racing is not promoted by turf clubs. Second transperancy in buying and selling of horses. Horses are not sold in  pubclic auction with GST but Private sale, Dont expect governement to support turf clubs, breeders unless and until 100 % GST compliant. If that happens only then tax on betting will be reduced by the Governement. Its a viciaous circle Indian Racing is Entrapped. Even turf clubs or Breeders dont want competition from outside. Most of Tier I racing countries allow participation from other countries. In India it should be allowed. Today also it is allowed but 8 Kg will additional load on the horse back. it will not be able to win. No future for Indian Racing as on date. I tried my syndicate in corporate structure, tried to epxort failed and now I do not see any future.

Pls understand the clubs dont care about punters coz the punters are playing with illegal bookies and apps not with the licensed bookies or tote. so even without punters, the club doesnt lose anything other than entrance charges. so punters must stop giving themselves so much importance and if they are really concerned about the survival of racing, then start playing through legal channels.

as far as bringing back the glory, the new age owners are the type who would not have even made it tot he members enclosure back in the glory days. these same people are owning horses and winning big races, some even serving on the managing committee of various clubs. so till such time that the club doesnt throw these people out, nothings going to change.

Just forget about this topic, next to impossible. Tell me one thing in the past 2 decades where any race club too a decision in favour of punters or something which benefitted punters? Not even good seating, good food, age old TVs to watch off course races etc. Just forget about Indian racing bosses, fit for nothing. The only important thing they took up was a national tote, this too went into cold storage. Hopeless!

Hello guys, one and only one way just free the entry and see. How  the race will change. And the main enemy behind. Soil of our. Racing industry is G. S T. The real truth.

The government needs to be supportive with its taxation policies. Racing is not seen in India way it is seen in other countries. That is the biggest reason. Secondly trainers need to honest to owners. Atleast small time owners need to know when their ward is on job. So that they make some money to buy more horses. On only stake money small time owners can't survive. 

This season in last few meetings a horse won in Mumbai. When it was with a small time owner the trainer never genuinely tried over a right distance. He persuaded the owner to sell it. The trainer himself bought it as owner was not getting fair prize from others. Within 6 weeks, horse was put at a right distance was well backed in betting though not heavily. And won with comfort. Imagine how will that owner now trust any trainer. Most of the trainers are genuine, but then such trainers have good big owners. Small timers are left with such ones.  

Third is betting taxes and policies. If black market betting is controlled sport will be at different level in India. But for promoting white betting, taxation and policies need to be sensible. 

Imagine government tells to pay 10% flat tax on a bet, clubs only take 1% commision irrespective of winning or loosing. And pays out full without deductions.Trust me the amount of tax collected by the governments in a week will be more than what it gets with 28% in an year. Cause people will prefer tote. Also clubs with this 1% will earn 10 times more than what they are at the moment. 

If these three things get well, racing will prosper. Or else its lost as now. 

Most of the race clubs want to charge the punters for even viewing the races online.

How can anyone expect revival. The racing scenario in India is very close to graveyard.
