Mr. Tai, i have seen horses declared not starters when head cloths are not removed on time..by your logic these races should also be declared null and void right?

The decision of declaring the race null and void appears to be incorrect. Someone argue that if the particular horse did not stuck in the gate the result could have been changed, that is a possibility only, not a certain things. Moreover, in a handicapped race every horse is given an equal chance of winning, by that logic any horse stuck in a faulty gate the result of the race to be declared null and void. Generally, in such cases where a horse stuck inside a faulty gate, the horse declared nonstater, this is the common perception of majority punters. But I am sure the honorable Stwerts being expert in this field cannot go wrong. Thank you all 

IT WAS 100% CORRECT TO DECLARE THE RACE NULL AND VOID IT WAS A FALSE START.

THE STARTER HAD SOUNDED THE FALSE START SIREN. 

YES it is FAIR and and according to rule .

simple and clear case of false start.(gate not opened)

those who played the fav they can say that gate not opened is not their fault why should they suffer...declair the horse non starter whose gate is not opened.

BUT

at the same time an argument  from those who ate (lay) fav can say  ....the horse whose gate is not opened is the one which can beat the fav.....

SO

It was an open & shut case. The starter had sounded the siren, the jockies didn't listen. Please don't allow your bettings talk for you!

Rules cannot be altered to fit our requirements, beliefs, or opinions. The stewards are obligated to adhere to these rules, and they made the correct decision by declaring the race null and void. The favourite was the winner, which is why there is such an uproar.

Its unfair for punters favourite won mostly punters played favourite.. It was huge cutting by bookies... 

It should be declared as no1 non starter ..

Mostly i have seen in gate issue and taken a time to gallop it shows DNC

Silly to say to declare one horse which has problems as non-starter. The fact is that this particular horse if run could have changed the complexion of the race and the result would have been different. Hence the decision taken is absolutely right as per rules.

I agree with Race Professor. That would have been fair to everyone:
- to the jockeys and owners whose horses were hindered
- to the punters who had bet on the hindered horses
- to the jockeys and owners on the horses that won and placed
- to the punters who wagered on the horses that won and placed

Stewards know better, it was fair decision. 

SHOULD HAV DECLARES NO.1 AS NOT STARTR AND GIVEN DEDUCTIONS ACCORDINGLY.

It is completely unfair that people who won the bets suffered due to their problems. For justice, the gate that did not open should have resulted in refunds and maintained the original results.

It was necessary. Gate opening issue.
