Quite a few favourites obliged at Malakpet albeit some at unbackable odds. Shifting focus to Pune.

Race 1 OLIVER

Once conqueror of queen filly Fynbos, was campaigned thereafter in stiff company. Now eased in handicap company, should resume winning ways. Pedigree suggests that the mile is right up his alley as all siblings have performed well, mile and above. 

Race 3 CREDENCE vs DIVINE STAR

Looks to be a straight fight between these 2 speed merchants who live to race up front. Both had successful stints at Bangalore and timimgs over 1200 are similar. I give the edge to Credence especially since she has raced in better company. However one cannot dicount Divine Star who seems to the up with every run. All said and done, i believe the horse who hits the front would have the race sewn up.

Race 4 PSYCHIC STA

Definitely the class act in the field, announced her talent with smashing win at Pune last year and followed up with 3 classics including the 1000 guineas and Oaks at Bombay. Failed to make an impression in the Derby and rightfully given a break. Should take a lot of beating here. Next best Thundering Phoenix under Trevor.

Race 6 DIVINE INTUITION vs MOJO

Once again a match race between the top two. Seem to like the chances of DI especially after shock victory last time out under work rider. I am sure the horse has struck form going by the ease of victory and the connections seem keen to cash in. The booking of Trevor is a positive and from barrier 3 will hit the front and probably last out. Next best is Mojo, another speedy customer who runs well under Sandesh and has between ÐI in Bombay. With the scales now in her favour, she could make the finish interesting.

Race 7 STAR IMPACT Place

Skillfully brought down, two races in higher company both 1400, probably to get her back to the lowest company. Infact in her last run, she was well up with the bunch and stayed on. Has beaten Purple Martini fair and square in class 5 over the trip in Bombay. May not get a better chance to shed her maiden status. However this a class 5 race and nothing is a certainty in class 5, or else these horses wouldn't be here. 

As always exercise caution around favourites who are having a good run and it doesn't take much time for the trend to change.

No 2(Marcus).... A 4 years old.... 5 runs with a solitary win in 1600(today this race is also 1600) but it's in class 4 (div-2)... In the current season ran in race no 8 at 20/1 with the same jockey(C Umesh)... Came distance behind ..... Only difference is that today it will be 1600...again will be inlonger odds.... Cannot be a winner.....

No 4 (Wind Dancer)...... Won in race no 8(beating CHALLENGE ACCEPTED at 40 paisa by more than 3 lengths).... It was 1400..... Today it's 1600 And this horse always love to run as a start to finish mission....from 52 kgs to 59 kgs today.... She can never be a winner.... 

So we are left with.... Horse no 3(Oliver).... And Horse no 7(Golden Heart).... Both are 3 years old.... And no 3(Oliver) has 1 win out of 4 runs..... While no 7(Golden Heart) is a maiden after 2 runs and her connections do not want a 5.5 lac(usually) stake money by winning a 3 years old maiden race ..... Giving entry in class 4(stake money 2.6 lacs).... And trying to beat a horse by weight advantage..... 1-7 GOLDEN HEART - Just couple of runs, recent run over 1400m 1:27:04 can be considered a lung opener with SJ Sunil in the saddle. Now going over 1600m + only 3yr old in the race at bottom weights + Yash in the saddle.

2-8 BE MAGICAL - Won well recently over 1000m 58:73 by 2L in a class 4 carrying top weight with Neeraj in the saddle. Now going over 1200m going a class up with bottom weight of 53Kg is a huge advantage. Will repeat.

3-4 DIVINE STAR - Won impressively over 1200m 1:9:82 beating Fighton by 5L. Now going the same distance going a class up with bottom weights TP in the saddle again. Will repeat.

4-6 REGINA MEMORABILIS - Running at bottom weights, previously ran on equal weight with 2 PSYCHIC STAR in Indian Derby. Now with weight difference of 6.5Kg is a huge advantage. RM will beat PS.

5-1 SEIGE COURAGEOUS - Highly rated, winner of last race over 1600m 1:34:76 in a G3 race in Mumbai. I dont see any danger from anyone. 5 JADE winner of last race over 1400m clocking 1:21:84 might come close, and place for sure.

6-1 DIVINE INTUITION - Impressive winner of last race over 1200m 1:10:72 going start to finish. Now going in same category, but gone up by 5Kg should be able to defy the penalty with TP in the saddle. Will win again.

7-4 PURPLE MARTINI - I fancied to win last time with Nirmal Jodha in the saddle, but unfortunately finished 2nd over 1200m 1:10:65 Now going over same distance with TP in the saddle with weight advantage. Will come of maiden ranks.
