Congratulations to all the punters in Bangalore! I heard that BTC has opened a new bookie counter for the first time. I hope they will also cover the Hyderabad race tomorrow, along with Pune. Most of the Bangalore bookies will likely focus on Pune, but we’ll have to check.

This BTC bookie counter seems promising, but there is a concern about the winning amount; they charge a 28% GST, which is 18% more than what normal bookie stalls do. Typically, regular bookies collect an extra 10% at the beginning, while this new BTC counter collects 28% on the winning amount.

Perception (1) has consistently demonstrated class, recording sharp 800m workouts at 0.58 (-2) and 600m in 43s, maintaining form, and has a habit of coming from behind to finish close in higher company. Unlike others in this set who have mostly performed in Division II, Perception carries the clear advantage, having often started as favourite and run at low odds. Given his current form and racing pattern, this outing should translate into an easy win or, at the very least, a strong placing.

Win 5k & Place 35k – Place (minimum 70p expected for place).

Upsetter: Bellingham (5) – This runner has genuine claims to spoil the party. With strong recent trackwork, a Mock Race sharpening, and past close finishes against seasoned runners like Peppi, New Bound, and Sargent, he represents solid value. His preparation indicates readiness, making him a live upset candidate.

Whistledown (11) – This horse came late to finish 3rd behind My Sweet Heart Star of Opera in a top-class field that also featured Gusto’s Boy, who has maintained form with a close 4th to Certainty. That line of form adds real depth and indicates Whistledown will not let connections down, making him a genuine top contender.

Whistledown has shown sharp 800-metre workouts (0.57–0.58), highlighting genuine race-ready speed and strong condition in training.

Divine Secret (2) – Comes into this race looking exceptionally well-prepared. Small threat from secret option but still a good horse to win.

Most Beautiful (4) – This 4-year-old filly has a good profile for this field. Last time she finished 1st but 2nd after objection to My Sweetheart Taaliyah (at good odds). This time she should win/place and is a genuine contender. No change in equipment, and the extra 1.5 kg she is carrying is not a concern.

Small threat from Aos Si, but still will bypass this and go with Most Beautiful for extra solid reasons.

Star Forever (3) – Appears to be the most reliable contender in this field. Recent trackwork has been impressive, and all indications suggest he is fully prepared for a winning performance.

However, the threat cannot be overlooked from my long-standing radar horse Warwick (1), who in his previous start was heavily supported in the market (opened around 4/1 and ultimately backed down to near 16/10). Unfortunately, his chance was compromised by an untidy, overly erratic ride from P. Ajeet Kumar – shifting from midfield to being crowded, then to the rail, back to midfield, and once more to the rail. Yet despite these difficulties, he still finished a strong second. That effort underlined his inherent class, and with a smoother passage, he remains a significant place prospect.

Star Forever (3) – Win 5k, Place 15k

Warwick (1) – Place 15k

Race 6

Armstrong (2) – A front-runner in recent times. Importantly, in February he yielded to China Town from start to finish, finishing 3rd over 1600 meters. This time, that drawback is balanced by the latest trackwork on August 21, which has shown progress. With 200 meters less to cover and Deepak Singh having the whip, he may upset the strongest horse for place and win. Partial vibe even hot line section has from Bol Card.

Race 7

Decacorn (1) – Shows proven class and steady form, has beaten stronger fields, and holds a clear edge with better timing and handicap. Strong winner choice, always in start-to-finish mission.

If he fails this time, Miss Maya (1) – Often undervalued. This time 8kg less to carry, and her late-finishing style makes her a fair upsetter/place chance. The shorter trip suits her run, and if leaders set a fast pace, she can finish in the frame.

High Heels (3) – Has been kept sharp in trackwork, moving easily on 17/07 and showing fine trim again on 05/08 & 21/08. She holds consistent sprint form, with the trainer maintaining her fitness through regular short works, and possesses a good turn of foot well suited for the 1100m trip. She has also scored over Linda a couple of times in previous meetings.

Iconic Star (7) – If we ignore his previous runs when he was lame, his recent outing in Division 1 along with current trackwork shows he is fit. With 200 meters less to travel compared to his last run, he stands out as a genuine contender.

For the people of HT, a few “gyan babas” who now come and criticize others before race results, this is for you: If you truly have the skill, then play all races, or at least 7–8, or at least 6 races and pass them with win, SHP, place, and take profits before commenting… no lottery guess.
