The timings are good without pressure (1.41–1.52 at 1400–1600m with relaxed 600 splits), meaning the real burst has been deliberately hidden.

In staying terms, that’s a serious positive because for 2400m what matters is conserving energy, relaxing, and producing the final 600m surge. Duke of Tuscany is the obvious rival, but has already shown his cards. If Positano’s true ability is being reserved, he’s primed for the right day and this Trophy race is exactly when trainers spring their best.
