7th Race (5-PROKOFIEV Vs 7-Red Bishop)

5-PROKOFIEV Lost the whip at 400 mtrs, but lost to 7-RED BISHOP by only 0.1 Lengths....but rider change from Mukesh Kumar to Antony Raj, same rider for Red Bishop where as  Red Bishop was whipped excessively.....Same Distance Now.

Firstly, it’s a tight call between Prokofiev and Red Bishop, and no doubt others also have their own strengths.

Checking their previous runs, timings, handicap, and class, I found Prokofiev has the winning edge because it has always taken good positions at the start. Whereas Red Bishop, no matter the number of runners, many or less, never really took good positions until the bend, where it becomes an extra mile to travel or a lesser mile to cover.

On track work, the prize goes to Prokofiev, then Red Bishop.

This time the race setup is balanced in such a way that Red Bishop, drawn (3), should get a steady jump and position, while Prokofiev, drawn (7), can still manage from the outside, getting time to settle without getting locked in the bunch. Anthony Raj is in top form nowadays.

Mainly, in race no. 83, the jockey lost his whip while riding Prokofiev and still managed only one position less, finishing 4th. Meanwhile, Red Bishop also met interference and came 3rd, and from here my interest is shifting to Red Bishop.

Now let’s try to understand the trainer’s mood and thoughts. Looking at gears and equipment, one question arises why so many gears on Prokofiev, especially one extra gear XNB. This gear is usually used when the horse seems to waste energy early. While Red Bishop is going with the same, only tongue strip.

Again, it’s a close call. Finally, I will take a chance on Red Bishop for the reason that if this time it gets a clear jump, run, and position, it can hit the board as winner. But again, no surprise if Prokofiev wins. I will be hurt if anyone apart from these two wins.

Red Bishop should win, and even if it gets 60 paisa for place (for me profit is important, not that ego where my selection should give me money only on winning) then it’s a good cover bet. Or else, if no odds for place, shoot win.

And nowadays I am seeing some gyani babas mentioning this and that about how many lengths their selections will win, which I can’t say because I am not that gyani like them. My only counter to them is if they say this much length winner then their selection should first win, then should win with same distance what they claim, but mostly it’s board out then it’s a question?

However, I am playing the full race card of 9 races, with 25% of the returns out of which I got, just using 25% of yesterday's remarkable profits club, so I won’t be tempted to pour everything into one race.

Now let’s see the outcome. May the best horse win.

RED BISHOP (7) win & hammer on place 

PROKOFIEV will win. SICYON & ZAFFERANO for the minor. RED BISHOP will struggle.

Prokofiev Versus Red Bishop Will be shocked if either over rated horses win.

A little analysis, as i see the race

Prokofiev is the favourite, with red bishop not much longer in odds. Prokofiev sits 2-3 until the bend, and then tries to challenge the front runners for the lead. Red bishop will sit 4-7, and gradually move up as race progresses. Historically, red bishops running style can prove disadvantageous on hyd ground, where front runners often finish ahead. If jockey sits him close to Prokofiev then his burst is enough to help him win.

Notable upsetters are Corte madera and Zafferano. Corte madera is a strong horse, and being from hyd it runs with local ground advantage. Zafferano should a good late dash in Pune, and has been improving. Both can come and challenge the favourites. A lot of the race result is up to the jockeys planning of the running. Any fault in pace can destroy the race.

A big red flag is the entering of Matisse, which looks to set a flaming pace to throw Prokofiev off his rythm. If he's ridden so, Red bishop/zafferano will lift the cup.

My bet: Corte Madera Win-Place (30k-70k)

I guess we can wait till today evening once we get all inputs  and check the track work, and importantly the equipment applied, which is also a major thing and cannot be exempted. From that we can assume the horse’s condition. For example, a rubber bit or cross noseband may give us one hint, then blinkers, visors, etc. will give us another hint, and for breathing and stamina the tongue strap will give us one more hint.

And then comes the track work. Since the horse is coming after almost a two month layoff, we have to check the track work carefully. Like recently what happened with Positano, where the trainer calmly hid the actual burst of the horse, in fact it was clear, but many people got fooled and played Duke of Tuscany. So this time, if any trainer is keeping it hidden and saying, “cinema I will show only in the race,” then we will see. This time 400 meters less to travel 

After that comes the jockey set up, and only then we can bank the final winner. It is too early to bank the winner or even the top 2 top 3 horse.

Dont neglect Racing ruler. Last two win  outstanding though opposition was not strong. Vastly improved. It relishes the monsoon track whereas outstation horses struggling in this track. I will play Racing ruler each way.
