Among the four winners by Sandesh on Sunday, his rides on Time and Tide and Seneca were superb. On Time and Tide, it was power packed riding where he extracted every bit of effort possible from the horse. On Seneca it was classy horsemanship - Sandesh began his move with three whips to the horse, and then, despite the stiff challenge by El Moran, he used only his hands and heels to coax a half length victory out of Seneca. Speaks of his understanding of the horse and his confidence in it! He was a picture of cool focus in that duel. A true champ!
And very good riding by Vivek and Umesh too - it was a pleasure to watch the races again and again!
When so many promising jockeys, trainers, and horses are raising the level of racing in India, it is a sad situation that the sport has been hit by 40% GST. Sincerely hoping and praying that something is worked out between the government and turf clubs, and that this wonderful sport survives, thrives, and flourishes in India. Let horse racing too a part of the country's success story!

I love the sport as much as everyone does. I started following races as a seventeen year old since my father was a member of MRC
Used to go to eat the food from Dasaprakash official caterers then and got interested in the sport and went on to become a very instinctive punter with help of a couple of good whiskey. But overall I have seen people getting destroyed in this sport where there is always a give and take policy among the people in control. This sport is also an OCD and punters will keep coming no matter the taxes are. May be it will hurt the jackpot treble tanala punters more than the people who play with bookies
I thank God for still keeping me in a position to attend races in my Golden jubilee year of racing.

Anthony Raj, Vivek G, Bhosle, Yash, J Chinoy, Hardas Gore, V Shinde, will emerge as good jockies if nice mounts are entrusted to them.
Unless the owner/trainers impose confidence on them, we have to be satisfied with only Trevor, Suraj and Sandesh, leaving aside the bright star AK47 who is bent upon spoiling his career for the reason best known to him only.

Like every other profession, being a racehorse trainer and a jockey takes a lot of effort. It is an effort intensive profession, that takes immense efforts and sacrifices, and is fraught with risks. Like other professionals, Indian jockeys too are making a mark outside India. Some horses and trainers too earned international acclaim via victories like Astonish, Adler, Mystical, Oasis Star, etc. All this, despite lack of government support and patronage. About time the government stops identifyinghorseracing as gambling. Instead, they need to bring in a framework and environment that other countries have, where horseracing is seen as a mainstream socially accepted industry. Hoping to see Jockeys and Trainers getting Arjuna awards and Dronacharya awards some day!

Truely said. Nobody at the helm of the govt never notices this wonderful sport..with s many risks whle riding and not riding also .These jockies desere to be honoured other than the clubs. When cricket in every district from india gets live and betting.. big sponserships . Every state has their premier leagues.with massive stake money. Iam sure that crickrt also will loose it charm in coming years. .Sponser of IPL. Has withdrawn already.
