mostly ,invariably a colts/geldings have held the sway over derby distance so 4with owner consistent Ameeta Mehra over 3 Dubai star which has ok form,4/3 will fight it out.

There is 70%chance of Heavy rains at the time of derby Race time.

It has rained yesterday also.

So it's not going to be jockies or horses liking.

I think there are better jockies than Suraj in Derby..with due respects to his reputation. I don't think he can win in the present scenario 

It will be HEART . The full sister to Santisimmo, had won her last outing at Kolkata in a record time under same jockey. This late bloomer may win derby.

It looks to be a very competitive field for the first time in Kolkata. Unfortunately most good horses are from other centers, are the local trainers not capable of training classic horses?

I think the race is between Heart, Racing Ruler and Arabesca. I also wanted to put Eleanora in the mix, but Madmax here has ruined that for me. I beleive any congratulations given before the race most often ruins the chances of that horse. My own personal superstition, I do not want to blame anyone for anything, just saying!

@LVR Deshmukh horse No(7) Arabeska horse will win but have to see jockey, who will ride?? 

Also pointing out, calcutta fillies winner 'Merlet' hasn't been accepted for the big event either. 
 

Maybe winter classics are what will attract the horse to the centre, as it looks incapable of winning elsewhere

Really astonished by the non-acceptance of Pantazi and Morano. Maybe the connections, who have earlier engaged with HTians, can throw some light on this matter.

Too early to comment anything at acceptance stage, will wait for race card to confirm my picks.
