S. John will be a very good trainer. He has understanding of horses. Arjun Manglorekar was a very talented trainer and had genetics to it. Being son of the trainer Madhu Manglorekar who has his own place in Bangalore racing it is for sure that Arjun would learn the skills from early childhood. 

However his father took a different path and asked him to assist the all time great lengendary Rashid Byramji. Under whom Arjun got the licence. There is no doubt Arjun is one of the best trainer in India today. But when we go back to 2006/2007 somewhere, he was a decent trainer with good ability but not one for group races. 

Then he retained a jockey called S. John who was not in the field and was working in Hotel in Goa. But was a skilled beach rider.

After which things change for both. Arjun Manglorekar becomes a group horse trainer, who focuses more on big races and S. John becomes a jockey who can win on Scarface just out of determination and never give up attitude. 

John is capable, basically has a ability to understand horses and give a feedback accordingly to the trainer. This is quality which a trainer needs. He will be an excellent trainer.

S.John is is the best Jockey especially for Top weighted horses. The balance on  saddle is quite amazing. Hope he may come back.
