Firstly, If racing is only giving two selections a day, why all the news paper, race paper and race books gives three choices in each races

Secondly, none of those above mentioned ask you to play all their choices

Thirdly, tipping is a thankless job, if any tipsters tip won and you make profit, you are not going to pay them, I know many here who tip out of their passion only

If you are following any tipster here and if he is willing to provide only two tips per day, ask them and if they provide then well and good, this is an open forum to all and there are many visitors to this forum who never ever responds or applause the time spend by the tipsters in this forum

Lastly what you are playing is entirely your decision, and for that you need to do your own study and compare it with your favorite tipster and if both matches, then take chance, and if none matches, you can stay back playing on that particular day, it is not necessary that to play all racing days

My suggetion is that just enter the race track select race about to start and this is your 1st attempt. Look for the favorite horse select that horse to bet only SHP &THP. If there is no THP instread bet place. Based on the result you may try for second attempt or quit. In the second attempt, repeat the same way and look for result and decide to continue or leave the race track. Similarly you may try third and final attempt same way. If you are successful you may come again next time or quit for ever. Please note in all 3 races just avoid favorite horse and never bet the same.Good Luck!

Pros 

Young grandson of Galileo. Has travelled the distance n beaten quality horses including Kolkata Guineas n Monsoon Derby winner Heart convincingly over the trip

Cons

Running first time over the trip in Mumbai 

RACE 7 horse 1 Pristine Glory 

Pros

Run some good races over the trip including second in the Juvenile Fillies .

Running over her optimum trip.

Cons

Has a history of slow starts which can jeopardize her chances

Racing is a game where you survive on spot decisions n not on choices.

I'll give u two instances 

Last time I backed Hyperdrive n he finished fourth.

On instinct, took a chance on Hyperdive Against Agrador. This time he won easy.

Backed a hefty amount on Surrealist n came kaput. Where was the mock race n trackwork?

So racing is not just about instinct but also spot decision

My views are as follows 

1. Instead of one or two races Tipsters should nominate One horse per race If someone nominates 2 choices and with so many races in a day it adds to confusion 

3. If we observe IR race choices the first tipped is either a first favourite OR second favourite with normal odds. What I mean is even if Winner is there from 2 horses the returns may be meagre 

4. Except in Joint Favourite if someone bets on both in some proportion one can end up in small profir

5. Let Tipsters analyse number of races as per their other preoccupations 

6. Let punters decide what bet to take at the same unit of bet to know their returns

As far as I am concerned I analyse max 3 races or less on most of the days starting from highest class race and Terms other than maidens. As fellow Tipsters might have noticed I give only one choice and if is competitive races likes 1000G 2 choices

In my opinion, you should never follow any tipster blindly ... You study and with out knowledge you pick a horse and play win or place  then you will have more success... Play a horse based on its potential and credentials not just coz of your favourite jockey or trainer.... Don't even chase the losses, when I feel it's not my day I stop betting immediately... Live today , fight tomorrow.. seeing the card you can guess whether it's going be paisa favourites or upsets. You. Can skip the complete race day 

My take was that we have quite a few senior punters who knows a bit or two of racing. So suppose we have a 6 race card lets nominate that 6 of these tipsters will only post. Each will study and concentrate ONLY 1 race  thoughrally,inside out,and then post their findings for the rest of us. That way we can a much clearer picture. Each week new tipsters can b rotated.

I fully agree  as it takes a minimum of 60-90 minutes to complete one race which includes watching of last two videos of each runner,their previous batch in which they ran latest gallop etc etc.

Handicapping  4 to 5 races on a given day will take no less than 6 hours.It is very wise if tipsters give on 2 or 3 selections.This will help bring  out our  best selections.

The best tipster,in my knowledge, to have graced this column was late Vamanan sir.He used to touch only one or two races.

Also, here one is not bound to nominate winner, 2nd choice and so on for the entire card like Hindu paper, Original Vel and our beloved India Race.Com.

My Personal Rule for Betting — Life-Changing Since 2006

Since 2006, I have been following a simple but powerful rule for betting, and it has completely changed my experience.

Every race day, I select only three places to bet on.

If I win in the first two, I stop immediately. I walk away from the betting yard, enjoy some food, and leave the racecourse before the day ends.

If any one of the first two bets fails, then I place the third bet.

But I never bet on a fourth race. My limit is always 2 or 3 bets per day, nothing more.

I also keep my maximum loss fixed for the day — no chasing losses, no breaking limits.

Believe me, I’ve been genuinely happy since 2006 because of this discipline. I enjoy the races more, stay relaxed, and never feel the pressure of recovering losses. Before 2006, I used to bet on most races and lost heavily. Creating this “golden rule” and following it strictly changed everything for me.

Interestingly, many of my friends know this rule but don’t follow it — and they still end up stressed, trying to recover losses. Discipline is tough, but it makes all the difference.

Scope for in-depth study and intricacies in volved  if one sticks to few  races.One may be able to separate grain from the chaff.At least on paper.A specialist is always preferred than a general practitioner.

As krish said , take the best  pick out from the tipsters that they have given, even you should do some ground work for this.. Even money favourite will vanish like trevor did yesterday.. you have to watch each race and play accordingly based on the twists how the bookies and race clubs mesmerises..

Agreed, giving minimal selections is always a good practice.

I will post 2 or 3 pick for place, for Mumbai, Bangalore, you need to test my selection for atleast 2 days, then after if you think that's ok for you then follow on that. Friend I can picks from my own handicapping only and I am not any tipster, just playing a little for extra income. Thanks. 

The ban on online betting we thought punters will get good odds , but no what happened is different many people have left the racing , so now if you're not spot on with your choices to play you may seem to loose your shirt also!

So yes I agree with Mahesh instead of giving chapters about a horse it's better they give their best choices even its one or two .

Concentrate on something you know rather than gambling on other's selections 

At last anyone's rise this topic  i  respect all HT members and this platform, on the race day we C 60/70 members will give selection in all the races few of them genuinely provides minimum and best horses per day. As per my opinion those who giving selection in all races they don't have confidence withtheir Own that's why provides tips in all races. At last it's a mix of ups and down telling themself 8out of 4 selection hit the board this type of mindset will take you down I would say.

Requesting one or two tips from someone means, you don't have confidence in yourself.

The race results would be the mixture of favourites and upsets. No one can predict cent percent winners. For a horse to win it becomes primarily with the intentions of connections, which include owner, trainer and even Jockeys too.

It seems you have been losing consistently and you are anxious to recover from the losses incurred. When you make such attempts, your losses will only compound. Have a will power to move out of Racing and gambling, which is not your Cup of Tea.

I never play below class3  I never play more than 2 races win or loss. This I have followed since ages.I also play heavily. ( May be that's the reason?)I walk away when in profit.

I also follow Dharmeshji's advice sometimes. Particularly  intent of Trainer and owner  part. I request Dharmesh to post his advice here again to enlighten new punters.

Exactly what you said is right

Give only 1-2 tips per day 

Try this process for only one week and let's see the results 

If it works all of us be in profits and less chance of loss 

This will really help everyone 

Just requesting all to do this process only for one week.

If we choose 1-2 races and just focus on them I m sure all the tipster will surely give there best horses and selections.

And it will be 100% profitable day for all this is for sure.

No one is perfect in horse racing with decades of experience still every day looks new for racing experts 

Even owners & trainers will be fingers crossed untill there horse hits post and after that they have to wait for all clear 

Horse racing a patience game you have wait untill urs turn and for best horse who ever follows patience after entering into club will never fails and will be in profits

Why do you need one or two picks? It is your choice to pick one or two from our list of six to ten picks.For that matter you should have atleast some basic horse racing knowledge. OK special good luck to you.

People give day's best selection for anybody who wants to play 1-2 races. Just follow day's best and another which you like. 

I agree with this guys. Please give 2 tips per day which are dam sure bets and 100% accuracy. Think about this

No one is cocksure in their selections,  If it is so, how they can give one or two selections. If one selection passes other selection will fail

It is better one should take one's selection according to form , merit etc., and get thril whether gain or loss instead of throwing the blame on others. However , the selections will throw some light to eliminate some horses.
