On 9th July seeing the Derby Field i said D'artagnan timing gas the best timing in 1600 mtrs both in Mumbai & Bangalore . Althogh i was booyed in my group but in my 28yrs old racing i learned & experienced a horse in these superclass gatigory races timing matters 80%tv my experience from Noble Eagle, Jacqueline, Strom Again, Sergent of Arms, Jamari, Manifold and many others .

Again it got proved I was the only one playing No1

After watching derby race I personally felt sad for Margaretta and Vivek G the small boy carried his dreams on shoulders  from a small centre Delhi to the one of the richest run race in Indiaas hot favourite. But unfortunately he couldn't do what he wish. And I understand howmany sleep less nights he gone through by thinking  to achieve this kind of fortune.

And I wish him a bright n best future ahead.

I know it's tough to beat Margarette amazing turn of foot pervious run in fills trail she travell very smoothly jockey never ride hardly at all. Belardo/ Masar they well reputed stallion in European racing both had run in colours of Godophin even Masar won first Ever Derby for Godophin Stud owned by Sheikh Al maktoum. Margarette and Peral star both import but our Indian Studfarm doing wonderful job producing Best progeny this season we can see like D.Artagan/ Knotty Emperor/ Havoc i happy they are running will win or will fight it out every stride .

Hello everyone,

Of late, I haven't been regular to racing events. However, I started my punting career in 1989. 

When I checked the derby event,  I felt DIVINE EMPRESS, the daughter of  fontanebleau,  who didn't  clear the maiden ranks yet,, seems to have good pedigree credentials and should be in the top three  

It finished 2nd in a mile event @  Bengaluru.

It's Sire Deauville is from the USHA STUD.

LVRD says " we are taking a chance".  I think this mile and a quarter race, should suit him well. With Neeraj Rawal astride, it will be at the busy end in the closing stages, of the race.

Also, please check the  paddock looks. If the connections are serious,  in this Grade I event, the stakes being high, it may also land the spoils. The extra 400 metres should give an edge to this fontanebleau filly.

Hence, I prefer it for a place bet, and a fancy win bet.

Play Vivek G and yash lay Suraj like yesterday all Suraj mounts

Both runners from champion trainers stable are very good and already perfomed very well. Hence possibility of they setting a new course record is very high. Margartta in my opinion best distance is 1600 mtrs. from both these my First Choice is Dartgnan. But racing has a beauty of unpredictability. Horses are not machines. If it is upset then Knotty Emperor or Moonveil can upset. It will be interesting to watch this race as stakes money is such that everyone is going to give their best. Artisty of jockeys will be at pick if it is upset then Suraj or Trevor?         

PBMM runners have very bad history at later stage.

Note...no genuine pacemaker in the race.

Among the 8 contenders, D'artagnan and Pearl Star possess the stamina oriented pedigree profiles to best handle the grueling 2000meters classic distance at BTC which features a demanding uphill backstretch and a punishing 400meters straight.

If the track is fast and firm, Digital Empress,Havoc and Moonveil gain a slight edge over D'artagnan and Pearl Star.

If the track is slow and soft due to rain, D'artagnan and Pearl Star will fight for the prestigious event.

Vivek goes with Filly . only 2 colts running the derby . Well rested and tracking well , may give Vivek his first Derby. 

Trainer p shroff has won the summer derby straight 4 times... and 5 times in the last 10 years...

trainer Prasanna kumar has not won even once in the last decade... and he has 2 runners from his yard with top pros as jockeys ...

in the last 15 years, 3 summer derby winners went onto win Indian Derby ; alaindair, be safe and fynbos... 

7 PEARL STAR - By Masar a winner of Epsom Derby G1 over 2400m, his sire New Approach was also a derby winner. The mare Mannaal is by Dubawi, not a grade winner but decent winner of 4 races out of 9 upto 2000m. Therefore a huge bloodline with lots of stamina.

Pearl Star first run over 1200m can be ignored, second run was over 1600m in a maiden race which won by 8L with Akshay in the saddle who is taking the ride again. This is the dark horse in the race. I am sure will have good odds and you can have a good eachway bet.

5 MARGARETTA is by Belardo who is won 4 out of 5. Recent winner of a G1 race over 1600m will not go without a fight and its the second best in the race.

PEARL STAR a clear winner for me and MARGARETTA for Shp/Place.

LOCAL BOY SURAJ WITH KNOTTY EMPEROR WILL WIN DERBY I WILL PLAY WHAT EVER THE ODD

Based on their previous performances, this Derby appears to be a straight contest between D'ARTAGNAN and MARGARETTA.

In Race No. 65, the Bangalore Turf Club Karnataka Juvenile Million (Grade III) for 3-year-old horses (foaled in 2023), D'ARTAGNAN produced a stunning performance by defeating BUCKINGHAM by 10½ lengths, despite carrying 3 kg more than BUCKINGHAM.

In contrast, in Race No. 126, the Poonawalla Breeders' Multi-Million (Grade I) in Mumbai for 3-year-old horses, MARGARETTA defeated the same horse, BUCKINGHAM, by only 2¼ lengths.

If BUCKINGHAM is taken as the common benchmark, D'ARTAGNAN's superiority appears quite evident. Winning by a much wider margin while conceding 3 kg in weight suggests that the colt holds a significant edge over the filly.

On that basis, D'ARTAGNAN looks the most likely winner of this Derby.

The Zavary S Poonawala summer bangalore Indian Derby 2026 seems to be an interesting that a tough fight is expected between a top rated filly Margaretta (79) Colt D'Artagnan (74) both from trainer P Shroff. The other runners are class 3 rated less than or equal to 50. No comparison at all. My vote goes to D'Artagnan 

KE in Hands off Anthony Raj will expect to run a good race and hope to lift the cup

Daartgnan will ridden by Yash narredu who is in no form so it cannot be fav.

Margaretta will ridden by Vivek G and it will be fav.  I like Daartgnan but not jockey Yash. Race is in between these 2. So skip the race and enjoy the Derby without Trevor this year.
