Finally, the bulldozers were deployed at the Delhi Race Club (DRC) on 27 August 2026. Now the big question is: what will be DRC Club’s action plan for the future of horse racing?
Will they look for a new venue, shift racing to another location such as Meerut, or explore some other arrangement to continue racing operations? It will be interesting to see what decision the DRC management takes next and whether they have a clear roadmap to revive racing in the future.

The Sport is slowly dying in India, Unless Some Big Guns Like the Poonawalas do something about it, Racing is loosing its charm in India.....Someday looks like all Centers will close......

Godzilla don't worry this will never happen. And horses from Delhi are matter of concern but I am sure soon either at Meerut or Lucknow they will shift and being from Delhi it was heart touching moment for us when bulldozers were doing their job. We will miss racing and many livelihoods are on street now. Hope everyone will recover soon and make their life settled. Racing for Delhi punters bookies are over . So many families were deended and last but not least I totally disagree with Foaling fish words and attitude . May racing industry continues to flourish because lakhs of people are depended directly and indirectly in this industry .

By closing Chennai and Delhi Centres, more horses should be available and more number of days racing should be conducted at Pune, Mysore, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad Centres.

For the quality of racing DRC was providing, hardly an outsider feels for its closure. However, feeling sad for true horselovers who stand to lose IVB. I think Chennai will also meet with the same fate once betting operations are withdrawn from the Madras Race Club, which stands closed for about an year now. Hyderabad and RWITC seem to be the safest ones for the time-being.
