Not many of us have recovered yet from the shocking defeat of 'Fynbos' at the hands of 'Duke of Tuscancy' last week. But those who make a serious analysis of the various factors leading to the defeat would have understood 'Fynbos' just used the race as a perfect preparatory run for the next month-end Invitation Cup race at Mysuru.
The six-moth gap from the real field definitely took a heavy toll on 'Fynbos' and that's why the ever-astute Pesi Shroff brought in three more horses to ensure no 'outsider' walks way with the stakesmoney.
If you watch the replay of the race, you can see how 'Fynbos' covered tons of ground in the last 100 to 150 metres to almost be there at the winner's mark. With the benefit of this run, 'Fynbos' will make mincemeat of the opponents in the rich Invitation Cup event.
I expect 'Fynbos' to rewrite DYF's course record time at Mysuru as the animal seems to have geared up for the greatest moment in Indian racing calendar at the right time.

I don't know how much experienced you are in horse racing, but let me tell you a horse like 'Fynbos' should not be offered at 69 paisa in a six-horse field where the three immediate threats (out of the remaining four horses) are from the same stable. If 'Fynbos' was to win, the price should have been 3/10. You need to learn so much in racing beyond looking into merits and demerits of the participating horses.
