Also, thanks Dhandu D for the really, really kind words, or should I say, taunts. Bro, it's racing, and nothing is certain. I just gave one good bet for the day in Sassy Sarah, and there was research involved, not that, just because it was the favourite was liking it. It's easy to criticize after the races, but if you have it in you, just post a couple of winners on any race day, with conviction, and with logical observations, not just because they're favourites, or better still, the next time when I post just post your observations as to why my choices would fail. Another thing, I think I know who you, Dhandu D is, and if indeed it is you I feel ashamed of thinking of you as a good friend.

Anyways, do keep the taunts coming in, because that just motivates me, but I'll make sure you won't get many chances. Do check my post for Pune and hope for my choices to fail so you get another chance to take a dig at me.  Grow up, bro.

@ Theraceology , Read your post and it sure made interesting reading . The in depth knowledge you have about racing is very appreciable and as you rightly pointed about Gachchatu who may lose the 1400 M was great advice and at the same time your choice of backing Lux Aterna for place was nothing short of a genius stroke . Also the longer odds choice Sassy Sarah was just great , not many people in the race course would have picked this horse as aa winner and yes before I forget let me thank you a million for your excellent advice of not betting Cloudy Hills which was as per you a false favourite ,

Thought I'd share my thoughts about today's races.

First and foremost, a couple of horses that just do not qualify as favourites, ones that would most probably suck in punters' hard earned money, and they are Cloudy Hills in 6th race, and Excellent Warrior in last race.

Want to mention about another one, who, I'm not saying will lose, but just making big amount bettors a bit cautious. I know I will come in for a lot of flak for making this bold statement, about one of the most fancied runner for the day, yeah, I am referring to Gacchatu, who anyone with limited knowledge of racing too will tip as a moral bet of the decade; 4 runs, unbeaten, what else does a punter look at, but what needs to be kept in mind is that he is going over 1400m for the first time, and my experience of over a couple of decades tells me that there is that slim chance that he may falter. 1400m is a very unique distance, it's neither a sprint nor a long distance race, and I have seen the best of sprinters, and the best of long distance runners falter over this distance when making a 1400m debut. Mind you, once again, am not saying he will lose, but he MAY, and if that happens there's a live threat in the form of LUX AETERNA. 

If I was a big amount bettor I would have played LUX AETERNA for place rather than playing Gacchatu for win, as odds either ways would be almost the same, if not more.

Let's talk about a sure shot winner now.

SASSY SARAH, with excellent pedigree numbers (half sister to Knotty Charmer), even though not a winner over a mile in 3 runs yet is my DAY'S BEST bet.

In 4th race, Ultimate Blues seems like a good bet, but am a bit wary of Splendido.

That's it, guys, if my observations do help some on this forum, that would be good enough reward for me.

Take care, bet conservatively, bet selectively, leave races where you have a doubt, and always remember, if not today, you can cash in the next day, but don't chase your losses.”

Subsequent to posting did have a recheck of the last race, and am not that negative on Excellent Warrior, ex Toscana, ex RWITC runner. The field being so weak, this one, who has been brought down from class III can finally win at Mysore

1) The Bangalore based horses generally tend to hold the whip hand and amongst them the best prepared horse seems to be NRI JETPOWER. Relished running in the front without blinkers and hood but beaten on the post last time out with AKSHAY KUMAR on saddle. The choice of Md. TALIB who partnered her in a mock race at Bangalore on 26-7-26 is a good one. With 3.5kgs of its back and good initial speed, the trainer seems to have all the bases covered. 

2) GARZIAN has had a string of second placed efforts and the current bunch of 3 year olds looks mediocre and thereby presents a good chance to break the hoodoo and enter the winner's enclosure. 

3) DASADYU ran a good third to SPLENDID DREAM on debut and then was put on the back burner. Tracking 41 seconds for 600 meters at Bangalore, seems primed and ready. Jockey Y S SRINATH has got his mojo back and should make light of the 61.5 kg handicap.

4) BOLD SHOW won a 6 furlong race in an impressive time of 1.12.5 at Madras on 30-8-25. From then on it was a question of when the trainer would give the green signal. On 29-7-26, Mysore races ( race no.73 ), drawn 12, carrying a weight of 59kgs after allowance, it came out like a scalded cat and made every post a winning one. The jockey was fined rs10,000 for not riding out his mount in the last 300 meters. Truth be told he never urged the mount at any stage of the race, even after entering the straight and not even when the runner-up came menacingly close. Always traveling a double handful. It is the trainer who should have been fined, but the jockey got the wrong end of the stick. Had a good lung opener in ROYAL LEGACY'S mile.If it doesn't become the favorite I would be licking my lips.

5) GACGCHHATU is the unbeaten animal with classic potential, but last ran more than a year ago. However well it might be tracking, it would take a herculean effort to come out of a years hibernation and win without the benefit of a mock race atleast. LUX AETERNA last won at a rating of 51. After many a placed effort it's rating is now 75. It seems like continually running into place is blocking it from winning. POWER OF BEAUTY won last year at a rating of 64, with ANTHONY RAJ on saddle by a widening 9 lengths. Present rating is 72 and if it is of any interest and consequence, then in race no.133 ( 7-2-25, Bangalore races ) POWER OF BEAUTY won over the same distance carrying 55.5kgs in which LUX AETERNA carrying 50 kgs ended fourth. With ANTHONY RAJ back on saddle, prospects must be pretty good. 

6) SASSY SARAH has all the right credentials for P. TREVOR to add another notch.

7) In race no.109 ( 25-1-25, Bangalore races ) LORDS GRACE ran a mighty second to BESTIDENTIFICATION in a smart time of 1.25 odd seconds. Horses like EXCEED finished behind it. When LORDS GRACE was woken up from its induced coma, it scored a back to back double. It's second win was even more impressive considering that he thrashed FINE SILVER a 3yo who had run amongst other horses with classic potential. Carried 60kgs and above on both the occasions so weight is not an issue. Versatile enough to win over 6 and 7 furlongs. Should complete the coveted hat-trick.
