In a no whip race , striking the hind quarters of a horse  with hand is prohibited. There are many cases where no whip jockeys have been fined for striking the Horse with hand. But patting the neck with hand , and nudging with heels on the abdomen are normal way of riding . That is what " riding the Horse with hands and heels" means.

Remember " Be Safe " ? In all his successes it was never whipped An intelligent Horse can understand his rider and when reminded with hands and heels, steps up speed in time to get past the Horses in the front before the winning post. 'Be Safe 'lost the Invitation Cip race and also zest fir racing when it was not reminded as before but was whipped for the first time .

What Time has said is correct if jockey hits the horse with hand. In this particular race the jockey has hit the horse with left hand. If it is true he is right. In no whip races jockies has to ride with hands and heels only.

1. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED  : WINNER OF 3 races @ this dist . Showing plenty of reliability and improving with every run ,though Penlised but CAN NOT BE NEGLECTED AS HE IS IN SOLID FORM.

2. WINGS OF FURY : A moody customer, but well placed on Scale compared with this set , CAN BE FIGHTING LINE IF IN GALLOPING MOOD.

3. LUMINER : Maiden class is uncertain,  Lumineer had given easy runs ,but timing was better ..AN EACH WAY PROFILE.

4. CHAGALL  : Pure 1400 meter horse, ran a decent race against Sovereign king @ mile in same class , working good .SHOULD GO ALL THE WAY FOR WIN.

5. "SEQUENTIAL" &" SATYAWAN" MAY FIGHT OUT : SEQUENTIAL ran a 2 decent races ,Pune track suits well . While SATYWAN working impressive in morning trials let's see how he  perform today.   VALUE : SEQUENTIAL EACH WAY. 

6. TIME & TIDE : Sould be respected inspite long lay off , working impressive, This run is  for Sprinters Cup trial .

7. CRIMSON PIRATE  : Came like bullet in last FLUENT victory , in form .CAN FIGHT .

8. ROYAL CHAMP : Working well after disappointing  last run. This distance may suits well as he ran a decent race @ this distance in Mumbai.  AN EACH WAY PROFILE.

@Tom ; After resign your great observation on race no 3- 4 yesterday at great RCTC I come to conclusions that you are wrong in all aspects. In no whip race jockey can use his hand in making horse run and it's not against law of horse racing in any centre in entire universe.

You must have felt it wrong but it's not whip race and hence jockeys don't carry whip but they are Liberty to use hand. 

Without proper knowledge of racing aspects it's wrong to point fingers at Steward. So I feel you shall know laws by yourself first before questioning ethics of stewards.

Yesterday at Kolkata race we witnessed Some thing different which was not watched/observed by the great Stewards of Kolkata..

In yesterday's Card the Great Kolkata Club framed Two No Whip Races Race No.3 & Race No.4

I observed a strange thing while watching both races One Particular Jockey Mr. Vishal Bunde in Race No.3 Horse No. 6 Dr.Doom & Race No.4 Horse No.4 Fast Approach " He is Literally Using his left hand  to beat the horses on its neck while riding" this is Ridiculous. Such a deliberate jockey who is using cheap tricks while riding horses

What were the Stewards & Race officials are observing I dont know what Kolkata Racing Officials are trying to do... 

Finally No Whip Races races Stands for HIT WITH HAND RACES at Great Kolkata Race Course.

Correct me if am wrong & Share your thoughts on The above Race Observations..

Abhyankar from mallesh Narredu's stable looks good to complete a hattrick of wins in the 2nd race to be run over a mile at Pune on Sunday . The horse has shown a lot of improvement since winning its maiden start and with 3.5kg allowance looks well placed on  scales to land a hattrick .Though the competition is stiff and Caradoc also runs with a lot of weight advantage my vote goes in favour of Abhyankar who will be ridden by Siddharth. I hope the apprentice can guide him to victory.

1) CHALLENGE ACCEPTED had to fight it out to win in class III, but won running away in class II.This can happen sometimes because the opposition is weaker in the higher class. End result is that it has been slapped a 13 point penalty that blunts its chances. SCARAMOUCHE doesn't seem to have its MUMBAI form. That leaves us with EMPEROR RODERIC, who ran a game second to TYRANNUS carrying 58kgs with MOSIN astride. The trainer sensing a chance has opted for a request promotion over the shorter trip. With just 49.5kgs on its back and NEERAJ RAWAL to guide its fortunes, might just win this wire to wire. If it is of any solace, then it ran within 1.5lengths to TIME AND TIDE over 6 furlongs as a 4yo.

2) WINGS OF FURY may begin as the favorite, but it's pet distance is 7 furlongs. The mile might ask it a few tough questions. Also jockey SANDESH seems to have forgotten how to win. CARADOC is versatile from 7 furlongs to 10 furlongs and the mile trip might be right down its alley. Carrying 50.5 kgs, NEERAJ RAWAL has been engaged to ride. Notice that when a good rider maintains his weight, the ride of a lot of bottom weighted horses falls into his lap.

3) CHAKAR VIEW with the aid of the inner draw and early speed might hold on to place money.

4) Jockey S. SIDDHARTH has lost 1.5kgs of his allowance but gained the use of the whip, which is a very good tradeoff and it should hold him in good stead to drive the form horse CHAGALL to another deserved win over 7 furlongs. 

5) BRAVION is running after 6 months and it's not exactly blazing the track either. Normally I would have plumped for SEQUENTIAL, but jockey SANDESH is not exactly giving me the vibes. Assuming that the above two horses take up two spots on the board, a third spot is open for place. TAAQATH who ran a good 4th at Bangalore over 7 furlongs while just going through the motions, might be fancied to place if the odds are good. 

6) Time and tide waits for none, not even a crack sprinter like TIME AND TIDE. It might be on a 7 run winning streak, but some of the wins were hard fought ones. It last ran 9 months ago when it beat DREAM SELLER and although tracking well is coming into the race cold, without the benefit of a mock race even. I wouldn't be surprised if the body weight has gone up considerably. DREAM SELLER on the other hand has kept the engine running and summered at Bangalore very well. As if that was not enough it ran excellently in a mock race at Pune. Whe push comes to shove, the 4kg handicap and lack of a run might just be telling. It's not like TIME AND TIDE is unbeaten over the sprint trip. MISS AMERICAN PIE beat him twice but inspite of her presence, DREAM SELLER is the value bet.

7) Although CRIMSON PIRATE won well last time, it is going up a class , going up in distance and in all likelihood coming down in odds. A potent combination to pull you down. Quite a few runners can throw their hat in the ring to challenge CRIMSON PIRATE, but I'm leaning towards BEZALELL.

8) Trip is over 2000m and ROYAL CHAMP ran a creditable 2nd to CHICAGO CHIMES ( race no.74, 18-1-26 Mumbai) inspite of bursting its blood vessels. Seems to have gotten over that problem and has performed well enough this season. Tracking the best amongst the lot. Only worry is whether it agrees with the blinkers being fitted for the first time. If yes, then the race is at its mercy.

It ran a very forward race last time and with its current DYNAMIC RATING..It stands out as a very good value bet..EACH WAY.

IT will be at very attractive odds back it win and slam it for place.wobt miss the board with its current DYNAMIC rating
