You are right. 'Miss American Pie' very deservingly won the race, downing the only serious rival 'Time and Tide.' I still played only place as I too expected a shd, nk or 1/2L win for either of them. What tilted the scales in favour of MAP was T&T's long lay off. I am quite happy to share here that I have so far played (win or place) MAP every time it won in Pune. What really shocked me was the misguiding pre-race observations given here even by some seniors, who were so liberal in rooting for the other two horses 'Dream Seller' and 'Social Butterfly', both of who had no chance whatsoever to finish one or two in the race. There were some who even gave these two horses as "Day's Best" and "Second Day's Best", completely ignoring 'T&T' and 'MAP'. By making such careless remarks they only malign the minds of many punters who rely on them for a final opinion. Those who don't know how to study a race should desist from airing their views without a proper and detailed study. Some remarks can be easily identified as 'time pass' ones.
