Looks like 'blood bath' taking place at Pune today ! Maybe, a thorough cleansing is going on race after race and bookies' coffers are being sufficiently filled up for the great Derby weekend.

I am not writing this to tell u how happy I am. But just wanna share the journey of the most successful day this season after starting really bad.

First of all Thanks to Pune. No matter I lose or I win. I always say Pune is the best centre for genuine races. At least 90% of the races are run on merit.

In the first race I lost 11k with tax played 1 place 10k. It started terrible where the jockey almost slipped from saddle, got the check badly in the first 150 mt. Then again at last 200 mt and that was enough for an apprentice to lose. Inspite of all this it finished less than 3 leghths behind the horse which finished 3rd.

THEN.....From 2nd race my luck changed. And I won't tell you how much I made playing 2 and 6 both at 4/1 and 8/1 and laying no 3 at 60 paisa in 2nd race. But it made my day. They I layed Kavya and Real Gold with massive confidence. Till here I was happy but not satisfied because my days best was to run in last race. I was disappointed with it last time and I don't know if Intiaz Sir is reading my comment. But it really ran a forward race as I expected. Hahaha. Just kidding. I am sure if I can read it they are better to understand. And the moment Age of Reason sat 2nd I was ready to collect my money.  Lol.

I wanted to share this with our HT family because very rarely it happens that u expect ur favorite horse to run in a pattern and it exactly does that. Love u Imtiaz Sir and Neraj. U guys made my day.

1. ETOILE (4) she's a genuine top 3 threat. Her last run was a clear signal she's coming back to hand, the trip suits, she's the each-way overlay in this field. MILA (1) is the class horse and most likely the winner.

2. THE OLIVE CROWN (6) This colt is bred for 1600m, not sprints. His last run over the trip was his best. He's the most progressive horse in the race — each run better than the last, and his 1600m debut was a clear signal. The CNB ON gear change is a trainer's vote of confidence.

3. SNOW GIRL(7) is a classic "hidden horse" — her last run looks like a defeat on paper, She led a 1400m race and was only collared in the final 100m. That's a horse crying out for a shorter trip. Today she gets 1200m — 200m less to hold on. Neeraj Rawal on a lightweight front-runner that's a live set up. AZAADI (1) is the "if"horse. If she reprodces Bangalore win she wins if not nowhere. Top weight, wide draw, short odds.

4. STARIA (7) she's progressive, well weighted & ideal trip. Undercover (10) could place at odds.

5. KAVYA (1) is the call — class usually prevails, and her last-start win was visually stunning. The 1800M is the only question mark, but she was strong at the finish last time. If low odds not worth of taking risk. WINFIELD (6) Eachway is the play.

6. DIAGO GARCIA (1) Genuine Class Dropper He's the most likely horse to finish in top 3 — the weight beats him, but class carries him into the frame. AGATHA (4) She has been in the finish of almost every race she's contested. That's the profile of a horse who is due.At 49kg, with her consistency, she'll be there at the finish.

7. SHAANDAAR (1) is the most talented horse in the race. If he stays 2000m, he wins — probably comfortably. The CNB on, the Shroff factor, the turn of foot, the pedigree — everything points to him being the class act. If above 2/1 worth taking chance. Otherwise MONTEREY (4) is the improving stayer in a race He gets 4.5kg off Shaandaar, is proven at 2000m, and is still on the upgrade. He hasn't won yet — but this is his best chance to date.

-Lay and Play bets of the day.

1) Play no.1 place even if it's 50 paisa. First time running in the lowest class. Will try for win. Should be on board and looks safe. If it's less than 50 paisa place then I will skip.

2) I like no. 2 Fire away and no. 6 The olive crown. I would play both if odds allow. Else I will just lay no. 3 Manuel. Manuel is a good horse undoubtedly but last time it got beaten after taking a lead in last 50 mt. in a 1400 mt race. That gives me a hint it needs some more time to beat quality field at 1600 mt. I may be wrong. Let's see.

3) Tough call very unpredictable race. I will leave this one. I like 1 and 7 but 3 and 4 can also win. So better skip and not gamble blindly.

4) Play no. 10 Undercover place at any odds. If gets a clear run can win as well. Should be on board. Place bet is safe. 10% win and 90% place. Keep 11 and 9 in your tanala, forecast combination.

5) I would lay no. 1 Kavya today. Last time I tipped it to win. Undoubtedly it's the best mare in this field but giving so much weight to the entire field will not do good for it's chances. The pace of the race will also be a factor where I think couple of horses will try to run away with their feather weights. And may leave too much for Kavya to cover in last 2 furlongs. I am just assuming but that's the reason I would lay Kavya and not because it's weak here.

6) Lay no. 2 real Gold. In it's last run Victory flair ran less than 3 lengths behind this horse and today Victory Flaire is almost 6 kgs better. I like Victory Flaire but I would play safe and lay no. 2 at any odds. Hope it opens less than 2/1.

7) Play no. 2 Age of reason each way. Because of just 2 place available you will get place odds also bank it. 30% win 60% place. Last time also I tipped Age of reason and I didn't like the way it was kept too far away at the first bend. This horse should race up with the field in 3rd 4th position and just cruise away after the final bend. It stays well. No. 4 is the only threat and that's the reason I am going for each way and not all out win only. My horse has already beaten 4 in 1600 mt race but 4 ran a gud race last in a 2000 mt race. So play age of reason each way. If ridden well should win easily.

STARIA - A rising form horse gets it's pet distance again to compete in Class 3 on promotion, may face some problems due to draw number otherwise looks good for another victory under it's belt. Could be backed by punters their pockets out, must be the main contender for this race. That's it One best bet for the today . Good luck

1) A confusing race wherein there seems no clarity to pinpoint a winner. Gotta wait till there is some medium of a gamble and then maybe the penny will drop. If you can avoid such races, then you can atleast say, ' I'm practicing self control', which is a key ingredient to coming out of the racecourse unscathed.

2) On both the occasions with KRITISH BHAGATH astride MANUEL ran commendably. Tracking attractively and with VIVEK G on saddle looks a potential winner. Uh-oh, but the trip is over the mile and the mile trip can really expose the shortcomings in the pedigree of a 3yo. Can't bank on the progeny of FIERO over the mile. That leaves us with FIRE AWAY and THE OLIVE CROWN, who have displayed some potential over the mile. Choose your pick.

3) AAZADI won in a smart timing of 1.12.77s at Bangalore. At Pune carrying 60kgs ran a disappointing 4th to ENSKY carrying 59.5kgs. Did it lose because it couldn't shoulder the top weight? It's been taken care of by choice of jockey SIDDHARTH S, who claims 3.5kgs allowance, but in the same breath the trainer is fitting blinkers on it for the first time and that is kind of anathema to me. CAVIAR QUEEN who ran well on debut over the 1200m trip, is coming without a run after 7 months. The best performed horse is actually MYSTICA, who ran close enough to LADY SCARLETT and MARGARETTA. Has had the benefit of a run and with the positive switch in jockey to ANTONY RAJ, is primed to win.

4) QUEEN OF BEAUTIES, a good performer over 7 furlongs, came a cropper when campaigned in class III. Tracking extremely well but trying its fortunes in class III over 1200m. There a two or three candidates who can put it across QUEEN OF BEAUTIES, but UNDERCOVER who is shedding some weight of his back holds the whiphand. Carrying 61.5kgs, UNDERCOVER lost by a neck with SANDESH astride, but SANDESH seems to be enduring a nightmarish phase, and that run is best ignored.

5) KAVYA is the highest rated horse, the best performed horse and the form horse, but it's circle of comfort seems to be at 1600m. Trip is over 1800m, and to win, it has to step out of its comfort zone. YOUREMANORBORNE though rated much lower, it's circle of influence begins exactly at 1800m. Carrying 59.5kgs, when it beat TRPOICAL PARADISE by 8.75 lengths in a time of 1.48.56s at Mumbai, it displayed class I potential. Agreed, TROPICAL PARADISE can't hold a candle to KAVYA, but the timing doesn't lie. At bottom handicap, if it encounters firm ground, YOUREMANORBORNE has a really good chance.

6) REAL GOLD won well over 1400m on debut, and that suggests two things. Firstly it has scope for improvement and secondly it is a little short on experience. This is like a double edged sword and it can cut both ways. Then it has to contend with the mile trip, but the pedigree suggests it can. The principal threat is from VICTORY FLAIR, who finished 4th to REAL GOLD , 3 lengths behind inspite of the rider losing his whip. Now running on nearly 8kg better terms. In its next outing over the mile, VICTORY FLAIR gave an almighty scare to MAHOGANY. In the home stretch, with a 2 length lead, for some reason the rider never took out the whip and went down by half a length. The trainer must be tutoring like, THE WHIP IS FOR WHIPPING! Spare the rod and spoil the party.

7) The last time CASSPIAN ran over 2000m, the odds suggest it was a no hoper, but the winner ALEXIOS had to pull out all the stops to shrug of CASSPIAN in the last furlong. Jockey ANTONY RAJ on ALEXIOS was warned for the excessive use of the whip. AGE OF REASON finished 3rd and previously had the beating of MONTEREY over the mile. SHAANDAAR is carrying the top weight and is yet to go over this distance, and over the mile trip finished 4.25 lengths behind ALEXIOS. ALEXIOS has beat SHAANDAAR and AGE OF REASON, and AGE OF REASON has beat MONTEREY and CASSPIAN has finished the closest to ALEXIOS, and by that twisted logic, CASSPIAN is tipped to win.

VALUE PICK (EACH-WAY): REMY RED (7) — Back-to-back placed efforts (3rd) over 1400m and 1600m indicate he is in good form. Well-handicapped at 57 kg and gets a favorable run over his ideal distance.

DARK HORSE / LONGSHOT: HIGHGROUND (12) — Bottom weight (50 kg) with Barrier 1 advantage. Showed improved speed last time out behind Phantasmiq and can catch the field off-guard if allowed an easy lead.

Confidence Rating: 7/10 — MILA holds a clear class advantage, but top weight in Class 5 always carries a slight handicap burden.

DARK HORSE / LONGSHOT: CASSPIAN (6)

Analysis: Produced a massive forward jump last start when finishing 2nd over 2000m behind Alexios at long odds, carrying bottom weight (50 kg). Strikes in at a low weight (52 kg) once again and could easily grab a place if allowed a clean run up front.
