ONE HORSE RACE.

ENJOY RACING. 

1) As a 3yo and 4yo, the best performed horse in class IV over 6 furlongs and 7 furlongs at Bangalore was VISION SUPREME ex. CZAREVITCH. After shifting base to Mysore, had gone into hiding. Two runs back, the trainer had changed the shoes to aluminum, but the horse weighed 470kgs. In its last run, the weight of the horse was reduced by 26kgs, and ran onto board over 1200m. As desired, the shoe has been changed without making it look obvious. The body weight of the horse has been reduced and a trial run has been conducted. Has run onto the board, so no questions asked if it wins now. Classic signs of a gamble being cooked up. Watch out for the odds and go with the flow.

2) SARO FLY ex. KHAZANA, ran an impressive 4th to SOLARA in class IV at Bangalore. In its next run as a favorite ran poorly, but that could be attributed to the soft going. In its next run ran a mighty 4th to VIBRANT QUEEN in class IV. Then again it ran poorly when the going was soft. It's better runs have come around the 450kg mark. After shifting to Mysore, body weight had gone up to 460kgs, but should strip fitter after the mile run. Watch out for the body weight. If it loses around 7kgs, then it is good to go over this 1200m trip in class V with the able assistance of jockey MD.TAALIB. 

3) GLORIOUSNESS had run a good enough 2nd to the too good ENCINO at Bangalore and in its next run as favorite, burst its blood vessels and finished 4th. Ran a good 2nd to VIBRANT QUEEN with no issues regarding bleeding. Drawn 12, but the horse tends to show turn of foot from the middle of the field, so the wide draw is not of much consternation. Should win.

4) Trip is over 2000m and the confirmed stayer seems to be RENOIR. RENOIR has shown its liking for longer trips by running fairly competitively with the likes of DIEGO GARCIA and MANWAR at Mumbai. This does not mean that rest of the field will not get the trip. The progeny of PLUMATIC have shown a liking for longer trips. CONQUISTADOR is the son of PLUMATIC and won a mock race over 1400m, end to end. If trainer S NARREDU wins on GLORIOUSNESS, you can be sure that they will make a serious effort on CONQUISTADOR. Besides, RENOIR is running after a 6 month break and has the credentials to end up as the odds-on favorite in which case it makes more sense to take a punt on CONQUISTADOR. 

5) The FLYING FEET finished 5 lengths behind POWER OF BEAUTY, and in its next run ran 6.5 lengths behind SASSY SARAH. The choice of jockey ALEEMUDDIN keeps the balance in favor of SASSY SARAH. Considering that in one of its earlier runs it had finished a good 2nd to ALFONSINE, I give the edge to SASSY SARAH. 

6) 1200m trip in class III and there are three 3yos in contention. BRIGHT THUNDER beat OSAKA on debut, and OSAKA hasn't done anything of note. It's next win propelled it to the top of class III, and carrying 60kgs, BRIGHT THUNDER might find the going tough. BRAVE HEART won well on both the occasions, but it would be fair to say that the beaten brigade was nothing to write home about. Might have met its match at the hands of the handicapper. QUANTUM'S run on debut as a 2yo was most impressive when it won unextended by 9 long lengths in a time of 1.6.64s over the 1100m trip. On the same day 3yo IMPERADOR won in a time of 1.7.82s. That should put QUANTUM'S performance in perspective. In class IV company, was entrusted to a 5kg apprentice. The long lay off and the early bumping the horse received and the inept ride by the apprentice, meant that the horse finished of the board. Has been given a mock race and has been sharpened up nicely with some eye catching track work. Should win. This being a class III field, there's every likelihood that a 3yo might miss the bus, in which case SILENT ACHIEVER might run into place.

7) I keep going back to the run of AUSPICIOUS KING in which SUPER STRIDE finished a good 5th. Had previously won with jockey H RAHUL on saddle. Since H RAHUL gets the ride, no harm in taking a chance on SUPER STRIDE. 

Mysore Masala

with 4 meetings left, three top jockey's (Antony Raj, Akshay Kumar & Trevor Patel) 9 each and three top apprentices (Mohd. Talib, S Sachin, Aleemuddin) 4 each are tied respectively for their championship race, Prasanna Kumar leading with 7 (3 points above others in trainers) with both AK & Trevor absent for both the days, Antony gets a golden chance to extend lead in championship

My choices for the day as follows

Change in name can prove lucky to both 9 Nakshatra & 11 Vision Supreme, former may score for the winless trainer, threat will be from other winless trainer through his 4 Dakshin Vijay, 6 Seductive with 4.5kg up than last run may place at best

2nd Race

6 Empire of dreams can give first win to trainer this season, 2 City of Hustle won't make that easy, with a run benefit 1 Arctic Sun can be a gamble for the owner who is presenting a trophy today

3rd Race

8 Joondalup has age on side to try, 6 Monterio can be the threat, 4 Gloriousness can be false favorite and may be good eat bet for win, keep an eye on 2 Selma back with winning jockey, though filly at these weights can be ignored for win

5 Estelle has age on side for a repeat performance at this extended trip, 11 Tiger Bay can be gamble if any, either 7 Conquistador or 8 Renoir will place
