Racing Incidents
ELEGANT ROAD (App Arman Khan), ACROSTIC (Afzal Khan) and AVELINE (C Alford) were slow to begin. Approaching the 900 metres PATROCLUS (Surjeet Singh) whilst racing to the inside of BEAUTY OF MAN (Pawan Sharma) and ACROSTIC (Afzal Khan) was checked by its rider and thereafter brushed against the false rails which caused the right stirrup iron of the jockey to break, the rider then was unable to ride the horse to complete advantage for the rest of the race. In this incident BEAUTY OF MAN also had to be checked by its rider and lost some ground. At a subsequent enquiry Jockey Afzal Khan was fined Rs. 1,000/- for careless riding and advised that he must take greater care to ensure that horses galloping on his inside had adequate room to do so.
