Racing Incidents
THE SPARTAN (Ahsan Qureshi) could not get a clear run in the final 150 Metres due to a closely packed field. Jockey S.John, the rider of SPARK OF BRONTE, was questioned regarding the riding on his mount in the above race. He stated that (a) his mount did not have the initial speed to get into the front bunch; (b) his mount was not grabbing its bit from the 900 Metres to 400 Metres; (c) he gave his mount every chance and gradually improved his position and rode out in the straight but could only finish second; and (d) in his opinion his mount required more ground and would be better over a 1400 Metres. His explanations were noted.
