App Munna Alam, the rider of JAMAICA, reported that immediately on jumping out from the gates his saddle shifted back and hence he was unable to ride his mount to complete advantage. He also reported that his left leg had slipped out of the stirrup iron. Tr. Vijay Singh was fined a sum of Rs. 2,000/- for faulty saddling.

Trainer Ms. Arti Doctor when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of her charge KINLOCH as compared to its previous run in Race No. 10 where the filly finished last, stated that in its previous outing the filly had run in a mile race and in her opinion that distance was not suitable to the filly. Today the filly was running in a non-winner race and the shorter distance suited to her as such she went onto win. The Stipendiary Stewards noted her explanation for future reference.
