At the behest of the Stipendiary Steward a Stewards enquiry was ordered into the running of the race especially the gates of ABASTOR (drawn 4) and PONTY ROSSA (drawn 2) did not open evenly as the start was effected.
Prior to ‘ALL CLEAR’ being declared Jockey A Sandesh the rider of ABASTOR requested to view the race video with a view to considering lodging an objection. After viewing the video Jockey A Sandesh decided to proceed with an objection and accordingly an objection was lodged by Jockey A Sandesh placed fourth by the Judge in that “ as my gate got delayed in opening in comparison to the other stalls, a fresh jump with other horses.” The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race interviewed the Jockeys A Sandesh, Gurpreet Singh and Starter concerned and after deliberations, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and based on the observation and the evidence of the replay of the race the Stewards noted that the respective gates of ABASTOR (drawn 4) and PONTY ROSSA (drawn 2) opened late as such the horses were denied a fair start as such they decided to declare ABASTOR & PONTY ROSSA as non-starters and the revised the order of placing as under:-
FLY AWAY I
BULGERIAN II
MISTER BELLA III
SIMMAROW IV
In consequence of ABASTOR & PONTY ROSSA being declared as non-starters a deduction of 30% on win and 50% on place bets was effected.
Jockey Ramandeep Singh Bal the rider of NEVERLOOSETHEHOPE reported that his mount jumped out awkwardly inwards thereby inconveniencing the horses drawn on his inside.
Jockey T S Jodha the rider of ROYAL GREY reported that his mount jumped awkwardly outwards from the starting gates.
Urine sample was taken for analysis from the winner FLY AWAY in the presence of Trainer Shakti Singh and sent for analytical test.
