Racing Incidents

At the start, INTENSE APPROACH (M B Qureshi) was withdrawn before coming under Starter order as the gelding refused to be loaded.Trainer Sarfaraz Khan has been asked to give sufficient gate practice before accepting next to race.

On being questioned regarding running and riding of his charge ASHWA KOHIMATrainer S Nawab stated that he had instructed App. jockey Shivam to go to the front and hewas not satisfied with the Jockey’s riding as he has unnecessarily checked the mount at the bend.

App. Jockey Shivam confirmed the instruction and stated that he had not checked the horse but the horse was throwing his head at the bend and whenasked about lossof whipin the final stage of the race he stated that it slipped out of hand.

Not being satisfied with the explanation of App Jockey Shivam an inquiry has been opened into theriding of ASHWA KOHIMA.

The Stewards considered an enquiry report from the Stipendiary Stewards with regard to the captioned subject matter wherein Trainer S Nawab, his Jamadar & Syce were questioned.

The Trainer submitted that he had nothing further to state than what he has already stated before the Stipendiary Stewards in the enquiry

The Stewards having considered all the papers and documents and having deliberated the matter at length were not satisfied with his explanation and held him in violation of the Medication Rules of the RWITC Ltd and he was liable for action for the presence of prohibited substance in the urine sample of his charge ASHWA SULTAN, as the Trainer is always responsible for safety and protection of the horses in his care and control.The Stewards noted thatsince0he had no mitigating circumstances to offer, the Stewards decided to fine him a sum of Rs. 30,000/-and suspend his Trainer License for a period of 30 days w.e.f 27th September 2024 to 26th October 2024 (both days inclusive) for the positive finding of FUROSEMIDE in the urine sample of ASHWA SULTAN.

They also decided to recommend to the Stewards of the club to disqualify ASHWA SULTAN from this race and revise the order of placing
