As Jockey Akshay Kumar was certified medically unfit to ride. Permission was granted to trainer Mr.S.S. Attaollahi to declare Jockey P. Trevor to ride MESCALITO in place of the declared rider.

Trainer Mr. S. Narredu was fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to produce the declared colors at the scales in respect of his charge CASTEEL (Ramswarup). Subsequently, All Black emergency colors were permitted to be used.

MESCALITO (P. Trevor) was slowly away and lost few lengths at the start. In view of its behaviour, Trainer Mr.S.S. Attaollahi was informed not to accept with it again until its behaviour improved to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a jump out on a starting gate practice day.

Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the rider of STAR OF NIGHT placed 3rd by the judge objected against Jockey Ramswarup, the rider of CASTEEL placed 1st for "at the 5 furlong the winner bumped me twice and well into the straight the winner alarmingly drifted out and has intimidated my horse for her run and made no efforts whatsoever to correct his mount and this has resulted me to finish near the sand track which has cost me the race”. The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race and interviewed the Jockeys concerned. After deliberations, they decided to overrule the objection.

CASTEEL (Ramswarup) sustained superficial clip injury on left hind fetlock.

At the request of Trainer Mr. S. Narredu, endoscopy was performed on CHAMPIONS WAY (Suraj Narredu) and no abnormality was found.
