BRAVO ZULU (C. Umesh dr.4) rushed the back gate and came out, in the process the bridle used on the filly came off. Subsequently, the filly was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have a bleeding injury in its right nostril and a gum injury. As such, the filly was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, SAMSON (A. Prakash, dr.6) jumped outwards at the same time BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe dr.8) shifted in thereby bumping, boring and tightening HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.7) drawn between them causing the latter to check. After the race, on questioning Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe stated that his mount was standing awkwardly in the stall, as a result had jumped inwards and had no time to correct the same. Having viewed the replay, the Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with his explanation and fined him Rs.3,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
At the start, ASHWA ANKARA (Amyn Merchant, dr.9) jumped inwards throwing its head up and had to be steadied.
At the start, SKY FULL OF STARS (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.10) jumped out awkwardly.
Passing the 900 metres, BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe) leaned inwards and made contact with HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan) on more than one occasion. Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe has been cautioned
Passing the 700 metres, ASHWA ANKARA (Amyn Merchant) shifted in for no apparent reason thereby tightening and inconveniencing MOMENT OF MADNESS (N. S. Parmar). After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 400 metres, SKY FULL OF STARS (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in and went across TRAIL BLAZER (App. Ramswarup) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 150 metres, TRAIL BLAZER (App. Ramswarup) was observed to be inclined inwards due to which MOMENT OF MADNESS (N. S. Parmar) racing on its haunches was tightened for room and had to be steadied. After the race, App. Ramswarup reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
An objection was lodged by Trainer Narendra Lagad and Mr. Dharrit Shah ,Owner of HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.7) placed 5th by the Judge, reason being "HOUSE OF LORDS had an unfair start as the blindfold was removed at the end, whereas it should have been removed much earlier, due to which he had missed the start, as his normal style, hence in public interest as he was favorite to declare him a non-starter due to non-compliance.
The Stewards, after considering the submissions made by Trainer Narendra Lagad, Mr. Shah, App. Avinash Paswan, the Starter along with the handler holding the horse accompanied by a Sr. handler. In conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the start of the race and relying on their own observation of the race, decided to overrule the objection and the order of placing remained unchanged.
After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:
TRAIL BLAZER was observed to have an injury on its right hind fetlock, its mouth was examined and no abnormality was detected.
The Equine Hospital reported the following:
ASHWA ANKARA sustained a left eye injury (sore).
