Racing Incidents

ASCEND (Nirmal Jodha), CADMAN (S John) and HALF VOLLEY (App Akash Rajput) were fractious while being stalled.

Soon after the start SUMMERHILL (Y S Srinath, drawn 8), KINGOFTHEWORLD (Suraj Narredu, drawn 6), MIDNIGHT STAR (App Hindu Singh, drawn 4) and RUNNING HAND (Arshad Alam, drawn 3) received various degrees of interference. Approaching the 1100 metres CADMAN (S John) and THEO (A Ashhad Asbar) made contact with each other when CADMAN momentarily shifted ‘inwards’. Thereafter, approaching the 1000 metre marker CADMAN and THEO received various degrees of interference when MULTIVALUE (P Kamlesh) shifted ‘outwards’ and ‘inwards’. In this incident KINGOFTHEWORLD travelling behind shifted ‘outwards’ when taking evasive action causing SUMMERHILL and THEO to be checked by their respective jockeys. Approaching the 800 metre marker RUNNING HAND travelling along the rails shifted ‘outwards’ causing MULTIVALUE to be severely checked by its rider. At a subsequent enquiry all the concerned jockeys were interviewed and it was established that :-

a) Jockey A Ashhad Asbar, the rider of THEO, was guilty of coming ‘in’ sharply soon after the start and causing interference to SUMMERHILL, KINGOFTHEWORLD, MIDNIGHT STAR and RUNNING HAND and was subsequently fined a sum of Rs. 10,000/-.

b) Jockey P Kamlesh, the rider of MULTIVALUE, was guilty of shifting course ‘outwards’ and ‘inwards’ for no apparent reason approaching the 1100 metres and causing interference to CADMAN and THEO and was subsequently fined a sum of Rs. 10,000/-.

c) Jockey Arshad Alam, the rider of RUNNING HAND travelling along the rails, was guilty of shifting course ‘outwards’ for no apparent reasons thereby causing interference to MULTIVALUE approaching the 800 metres and consequently was fined a sum of Rs. 10,000/-.

d) Jockey S John, the rider of CADMAN, was reprimanded for shifting ground ‘inwards’ when not adequately clear of THEO while approaching the 1100 metres.

Passing the distance post CADMAN (S Johan) travelling along the rails was momentarily inconvenienced when TWEEDLE DEE (C Alford) making swift progress on the outside shifted ‘inwards’.

KINGOFTHEWORLD was impounded for veterinary and analytical examinations. The Veterinary Officer reported that the colt was trotting sound and when scoped minute specs of mucus was observed which, in his opinion, was of no significance.
