b g BAHULEYAN, a declared starter in the above race was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the morning of Wednesday, 5th April, 2023 and found to be lame on left fore. Under the circumstances the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn. Tr. B Mahesh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of REGENCY GOLD, was fined a sum of Rs. 2,000/- for shifting course to the inside causing interference to STAR JUSTICE passing the final 100 metres.

Tr. C Alford and Jockey R S Bhati when questioned regarding the running and riding of MANDOLIN, the trainer stated that he had instructed the Jockey to place his mount in 4th/5th position and to do his best in the straight and expressed his displeasure with the Jockey’s riding efforts in the race. Jockey R S Bhati corroborated with the Trainer’s instructions and stated that his mount was struggling, not responding to his urgings due to the kick back and only started responding when he pulled him out in the straight. Not being satisfied with the explanations tendered, Jockey R S Bhati was fined a sum of Rs. 15,000/- for the indifferent handling of his mount, with particular reference to his riding from about 500 metres till about the final 200 metres of the race.

REGENCY GOLD was endoscoped on the evening of 5th April, 2023 and found to have suffered from EIPH. Tr. Rutherford Alford was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
