AMALFITANA which was fractious in its stall, was slow to begin.

Jockey Suraj Narredu, the rider of BURMESE, reported that his mount started dropping back from about the 400 metres, was hanging in and did not have anything to offer from about the 300 metres. Further the filly stumbled in the process of pulling up. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the filly and report ailment, if any. Post race endoscopy revealed that the filly was suffering from respiratory tract infection Gr. II.

Jockey Rupal Singh, the rider of AMALFITANA, was fined a sum of Rs.3,000/- for excessive use of the whip (1st infringement).
