At the start, ORCHIDS (Lalkar Singh) took a flying jump, unbalancing the jockey who lost his left iron stirrup which he could not regain throughout the race.

An objection was lodged by App. Jockey Arjun (SIR RAMON) placed second by the judge against Jockey Dhanu S. Deora ( TAKE A GAMBLE) placed first by the judge for “For shifting out taking his ground deliberately in the last 200 meters and not allowing his horse to run freely and even Jockey’s whip hit his horse on fore head at about 100 meters during this period his horse broke its strides and that cost him a certain race.

The Stewards interviewed the jockeys concerned along with Trainer I S Parmar and having heard the submission made by the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their own judgment of the race the Stewards decided to overrule the objection and maintain the placing as declared by the judge.

Jockey K Sunny Kumar (FLAMINGO FAME) was fined Rs 5000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount wherein he allowed his mount to shift out after the jump and interfered with ZELBET (M Shahid) who was steadied.

After the race DOMINANT was found to be lame by its right fore leg and further veterinary examination revealed presence of sharp Molars.
 
Trainer S. Nawab has been asked to obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness before next accepting to race.
