At the start,SCOTCHY (K Sunny Kumar) was withdrawn before coming under the Starter orderas the mare was fractious,sat on its haunchesand got castunder the gate.Trainer Ajay Sharma has been asked to give sufficient gate practice and to show his charge in a mock race before accepting next to race.

Due to SCOTCHY being cast under the gates and in the process it went under the adjoining gate of ZELBET who was gravely disturbed.Zelbet was takenoutand checked by the veterinary officer and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds as the mare was showing Ataxia.

At the start,DOMINANT (Angad) tookanawkward jump andswervedout due to which he lostconsiderable ground.TrainerMallikarjunhas been asked to give sufficient gate practice and to show his horse in a mock race before accepting next to race.

At the start,GUN POINT (Mohanlal) & DIGAMBER (Rajinder Saini) both were slowly away.

On being questioned, TrainerMallikarjun stated that he had instructed Jockey Mohanlal (GUN POINT) to sitinmid bunch and do his best in thestraight andhe was satisfied withthe Jockeys’riding as hishorse finished 3rdin this race.Jockey Mohanlal confirmedthe instruction and stated that he had donehisbest in the straight.

Not being satisfied with their explanation theywereasked to wait after the last race to be interviewed by the Stewards.

After the last race the Stewards interviewed trainer Mallikarjun and Jockey Mohanlal and having heard the submission made by the stipendiary Stewards and after viewing the race recording were not satisfied with their explanation and decided:

1.To fine a sum of Rs 20,000/-to Trainer Mallikarjun for Unsatisfactory running of his charge GUN POINT.

2.Suspend jockey Mohanlal license for Six race days w.e.f 16.03.24 to 05.04.24 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding (permitted to ride work).Both were reminded of their right to appeal.
