No covid test has 100 % result. The best is around 70 to 80 %.  Simply you cannot blame any one blindly just because the IR correspondent has expressed it. So many tested positive and later negative. Agree that there are good and bad people in all walks of life. In this corona pandemic these people who do the tests are doing thankless job while risking themselves and working day in and day out while majority in other jobs are working from home. Please understand their stress level in the working conditions. Even if we cannot appreciate them let us not blame them. When starting of racing itself in jeopardy what difference does it make if these jockeys tested positive or negative.

As per Ikrams post, the very fact that the Chairman of the Covid sub committee at BTC, works as a surgeon at Aster Hospitals, smacks of conflict of interest.

Trust is paramount in this pandemic. BTC would be well advised to use some other laboratory which has ICMR accreditation to perform RT-PCR for Covid-19

 with almost 5 months of of lockdown and corona in india one thing is very clear it is certainly not a very deadly disease as it is made out to be. Certainly govt should open up all commercial activities and allow people to earn their livelihood.

Delhi has clearly shown how to deal with this virus.90 per of the patients are getting cured in home isolation .all patients are given oxymeter at home to monitor there oxygen and if the need arises he is shifted to hospital immediately.you get the best care in govt hospitals which have sufficient beds.delhi govt has done a wonder ful job in containing the virus and providing best facilities to the public. Other states have no idea how to act so they are still resorting to the spupid idea od lockdown.people are suffering because of inaction of the govts and not the virus.this is also a disease like so many disease but we don't shut every thing for one.

What is the big deal if 10 jockies tested positive.why were they tested did thy have any simptoms they will be treated and they will be absolutely fine. Now companies are not shutting if peoplle are reporting positive then why should the club shut.take more precautions and let the activites continue

In any controversial matters, if you take a position and you sincerely believe it to be true, then some replies which question your viewpoint should not discourage you.  As a horse race punter, I am sure you are capable of taking in your stride some comment that are totally   opposite of your viewpoints.

As a race punter, you might have come across hundreds of cases where one jockey raises objection on a winner/2nd placed/3rd placed.  There may be instances where a stewards enquiry has been ordered and you expect that the race will be declared void.  But the stewards may just validate the results or may declare one horse in the field non starter eventhough it ran and finished nowhere.  (But, you are not getting any relief from such decisions).  What should be your reaction?  Just throw your ticket/s in dustbin and concentrate on next or subsequent race.

If however, the replies you get are loaded with stupidity, lies or dirty abuses etc. then the only remedy to you is to ignore such replies.  We can not stop such crackpots whose replies are highly unreasonable or highly unfair.

Regarding your observation that some good for nothing doctors simmply declare you as corona +ve, and rob a big fortune, I have nothing to say.  I agree that there are bad elements in every profession and anybody who consults with such doctor/s should blame only himself or his bad luck.  He can at best, get himself retested with one or two different doctors & decide about taking treatment.

In your city tasmac shops; at Bangalore it is wine or liquor shops.  You should have seen the rush on the first day of reopening of liquor shops when lockdown was in force.  (Even today all bars are closed).   People were there in front of every liquor shops in the city and you would be wondering whether there is any Ganesha, Muruga or Iyappa festival is there.

All essentials are doubly or trebly costly in this corona environment.  Well.  You have to cough up the price that the seller demands.  However greedy the seller is, he will not fleece you as much as the bookie fleeces you!  Stay at home, spend more on essentials and stay healthy!

The news item dated 18 Aug 20  by Vivek of Deccan Herald indicates that 10 jockeys tested positive for Covid-19 and after one of the infected jockeys entered the office premises of BTC , the place had to be locked down for sanitisation . This is a repeat instance as even earlier , a riding boy and a vet had tested positive in July . We may recall  that JAI had raised concerns about   safety  of jockeys  which  evoked  a sharp  response   from the management  against jockeys  including cancellation of licences . But the recent spate of infections vindicates the stand taken by JAI at that time and it shows that this lurking virus can breach our defences inspite of every possible precaution . It is also a wake up call for all those clamouring for resumption of racing in all the race clubs instead of a cautious approach in view of the mounting infection rate especially in Pune . Safety and well being of racing professionals , club staff and racegoers comes first in the prevailing conditions .

This Covid 19 is just dramatised by the media all around the world , there are plenty of cheap options to take treatment and get cured , I'm told that in Tamilnadu a herb name kabbha kudir ne'er is very good for Covid treatment , a spoon when taken in boiled water every morning on an empty stomach cures not only Covid but but various related fevers and body pain symptoms, likewise some other traditional herbs and home remedies, the hospitals are only making money and fleecing the public , one of my brother in laws friend had symptoms of fever he just went to the local clinic for a check up from there on he was referred to a government hospital , well this was like icing on the cake for the government hospital no swabs , no medical check up , no blood or urine check, without proper observation on his body health check they straight away confirmed he had corona , then as usual procedure they quarantined him got his address and family details sent the ambulance and pulled out all family members one by one like plucking grass and admitted them for Covid check up , each day for room service , bed and medical treatment is costing them 35,000 and still they are in the hospital , I just wonder what will be the final bill ad just concerned if they would pop off seeing the graveyard bill  , yes they are well to do , but just imagine if it was a poor lady or Gentleman or a person living on the road would this treatment be the same and the cost , it's becoming a farce , there are some genuine cases but I feel too much of importance and looting is going on , makes me think that after one misery like we're racing as ripped us of all our money ,now we have another misery , this is most despicable and horrific like I'm watching the movie Omen all alone in the movie theatre ,  what will happen if another virus is discovered , people are suffering with all these looters eating us up slowly and surely ,another classic case even Dale Carnegie would never solve is the  Tasmac wine shops ,  it was opened recently in Chennai city and on normal days minus the pandemic heavy crowds would be in line , yesterday I observed in many Tasmac shops only a handful people and mostly the old were purchasing the liquor with a dent and anger, most of them looked  poor and immensely half starved , the faces sunken with deep regret having going through this horrible days , even there the government as not been considerate as the price is gone up to 40% just wonder what's going to happen in the near future , children's school fees and books are raised by a whopping 30% , grocery almost double , vegetables and meat almost double and bad quality , in the coming days I think we have to eat sand and stones for survival and who knows there will be a sand and stone hospital to remove what we have eaten and as usual that would come with a cost , I'm only worried if our HT members are safe and sound not forgetting their families , please take care friends as dreadful days are around the corner , stop worrying about races a time will come for that , for the moment waste your money on your health and be safe , now please don't troll me or send negative vibes as the corona as done a great job to my mental health 

The Rapid Antigen Test which is now being followed instead of the more reliable PCR test, has a succes rate of about 40 to 50 percent only in detecting the Covid 19 infection. While positive is positive , Negative is not negative.

Even in PCR test there is a chance for about 20 to 30 percent false negatives.

So don't dwell.much on negative results. They are not reliable.

What is important is the nutritional,, emotional status of individuals and robustness of their health. 

Rather than obsessed with testing , and disease , administration must strive to provide safety, security, basic needs for life and work.

This is inside news which the open media is yet to reveal ,lest it opens a can iff worms.My friend who entered Poddar  Hospital for a test as he countered heavy coughing was adviced by the lab assisstant to just go home and take 2 tablets given to him.He was told that if he went for a test 90% chances are he wud test positive.Even the lab asst.refrained from the test knowing well his chances wud hv tested +ve.

My freind is hale and hearty now,or else he wud hv been 3lacs short today
