It was observed that the right fore shoe used on SUBSTANTIAL (A. Sandesh) was splayed whilst parading in the paddock, as such the filly was sent back to the saddling enclosure where it was re-shod thereby causing a delay in the start of the race
 
On arrival at the starting gates at the request of Jockey Vivek G., ALEXANDRIA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.
 
After being stalled, WINDBORNE (App. Ramsurup, dr.12) was fractious and reared up in the gates, the filly taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race. As such, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
 
At the start, LORD MURPHY (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.5) jumped outwards at the same time KEY LARGO (S. J. Sunil, dr.6) jumped inwards and they made contact causing the latter to be steadied.
 
Soon after the start, WINDBORNE (App. Ramswarup) shifted in under urgings and went across STARSEED (T. S. Jodha), HOWLIN WOLF (N. S. Parmar), BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (K. Nazil), and carried MAGICAL STAR (K. Pranil) inwards who in turn went onto LORD MURPHY (App. Aditya Waydande) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Ramswarup has been fined  Rs.2,000/-.
 
Approaching the 300 metres, ALEXANDRIA (Vivek G.) shifted out onto STARSEED (T. S. Jodha) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Vivek G. has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
 
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:
 
SUBSTANTIAL was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.
 
ALEXANDRIA was trotted and found to be sound.
           
WINDBORNE was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its left hind below hock.
 
MAYSARA was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
 
The Equine Hospital reported that ALEXANDRIA had left eye injury (sore).
